her claws were unsheathed, gleaming as if the moon reflected off them.

ebony stood the opposite side of her, back up against the rough bark of a winluf tree.

both their pelts bristled, willow's tail lashed but ebony kept his down.

he couldn't understand why she was fighting him.

a long, serrated gash along his left arm bubbled with dark red blood, that dripped all the way down to his paw.

a chilling breeze swept through, making him wince as the pain became sharper.

the cuts were deep.

and willow didn't look like she'd back down anytime soon.
