I walk through a moonless night,
An empty road with a thoughtless mind.
All alone not a soul at sight,
Is it true or am I blind?
I tell myself, to open my senses,
Hoping to meet someone kind.
Ready to look through different lenses,
Is it true or am I blind?
Streetlights seem to disappear,
No windows on houses, I find.
For there isn't a reason to fear,
Is it true or am I blind?
A loud howling at a distance,
A wolf, a ghost, or all combined.
Need some courage and persistence,
Is it true or am I blind?
A sudden chill runs through my spine,
And a grip on my leg of who's behind.
On looking, there's no one to define
Is it true or am I blind?
Pacing faster now, my torchlight flickers
Want to go home, away from this grind
Can't see the face of who snickers
Is it true or am I blind?
There is a park three blocks away
Who's branches of trees are entwined
Ghosts swing all night, they say
Is Is true or am I blind?
