My name is Maria Potter. Before you ask, yes - I am related to the famous Harry Potter. I am his twin sister, forgotten and abandoned by him but finally, at fourteen years old, I am allowed to attend Hogwarts. I have been practicing magic from a book that Harry left here years ago for as long as he has been attending Hogwarts, and my magic is ready for school.

I hoped to be sorted into Slytherin house, just to get away from my brother. I was expecting him to ignore me all the way through, but at the train station he spoke to me.

"Are you excited to get to Hogwarts?" He asked me with a comforting smile.

I supposed that I couldn't hold grudges. I was going to be his equal now, a student like him, after all.

"Yeah, I'm kind of nervous though." I admitted.

"Don't worry, you'll be great. I've seen some of your magic at home and you're already at a passing level." Harry was older than me by six minutes. "You're going to love Hogwarts. It's magical."

I laughed. "No way."

Going through the wall and entering platform nine and three quarters had been terrifying for a raised muggle, but when the train arrived, surreal hit me. I was going to study at this school, and I was going to be a witch.

I was already wearing the Gryffindor uniform, my house predetermined because my brother was part of the house of the lion. The train arrived at the platform and we boarded.

On our way through, a boy stepped out of a booth behind us. "Potters!" He called.

We both turned around to see a blonde boy smirking at us. His hair was snowy and his skin was pale. He wore a green tie: Slytherin.

"What, Malfoy?" Harry asked the boy, annoyed.

"So there are two of you now." He said, looking me up and down. I frowned, disgusted by where his eyes were looking. "What's your name, love?"

"It's not love, that's for sure." I said snarly, matching his rude tone. "Maria."

"Ah, well hopefully we have some classes together, Maria." He said.

"Yeah," I said, turning my head and walking the other way.

Harry led us into a four seater where two people sat across from us - one redhead boy, and a brunette girl who sat up straight and wore a welcoming smile.

"Maria, this is Ron," The redhead, "And Hermione," The brunette. "Guys, this is Maria, my sister."

"It's lovely to meet you, Maria." Hermione said.
