Ch - 5🤍

I felt better after having the soup which Avik prepared for me and later after chatting a little I came back home.
We were lost in talking about random stuffs that we didn't realised when 4 pm turned to 5 and 5 turned to 6 which felt like in the blink of an eye.
Time becomes ephemeral whenever I'm with him.

My phone ringed indicating that I've a call.
I picked up the call and it was Anushka who spoke on the other line.

" Tashi how are you now?"

She asked,the concern in her voice made me smile .

" All good now Anuu!"

" So when are you getting back to work?"
" It would be great if you prefer to stay back home for some days because it's not safe for you in here."

" Uh..what's with the shaky voice?
Anu...are you okay?"

" I'm good but....there is something that came in the test reports of the knife which Sanskriti submitted on your order."

" And I suppose those aren't normal? Well that's interesting! I'm on my way to the office , bring on the reports."

" Wait! No!! Tashii c'mon you gotta rest, oh God don't tell me that you're already in your car Please nooo!!!!"

End call-

I heard Anushka panicking from the other line but I was too excited to even care about anything else and I ended the call speeding up my glassy black Aventador.

I've always been hooked to the crime series ever since I started reading books,not like I enjoy crimes but it's just sometimes the crimes committed sound hot and the way the criminals commit them is more captivating and attractive.

Pressing the brake I stopped my car and entered in the huge building sipping on the iced white mocha I grabbed on the way.

I entered my office and Anushka was there with Sanskriti sitting on the sofa which was in the corner of my office.

They came up and hugged me tight as soon as I came in their sight .
Tears rolled down my cheeks because of the warmth I felt.

Surely it's been months since we last hugged .

" Aish, I love you guys."

I said pulling back from the hug as they wiped my tears.

" We love you too Queen!"

" Nowwww where are the reports!?"

" Bringing them onnnnn Miss Tashiii!!!"

Someone sang entering my office,it was Gauri ,my other most trusted lady.

" Oh my gosh now that's another surprise!"

I exclaimed as we all hugged her.
I almost forgot that she worked as a forensic expert.

" First ,let the queen sit on her throne."

Anushka said leading me to my chair as Sanskriti and Gauri followed behind.

" Alright now the reports!"

I said stretching my hand out towards Gauri as she handed me the reports.

I raised my brows in surprise .

Someone almost killed me for some data ?
Hmm,that's even more interesting.

" So,the reports are saying that knife had some chemical which popularly works as a slow poison on its sharp edge!?"

" Absolutely."

I asked getting slight goosebumps and Gauri replied.

The attacker came with complete planning, because there aren't any finger prints on the knife .

And left without a single mark of their presence except this knife which isn't even useful anymore.

I kept the reports aside and went through all the data I had in my computer.

Surprisingly , The thief stole my personal information too?
That's concerning but I feel
more drawn towards this case now .

" Great work Gauri,thanks for the help!"

" That's no problem!"

" By the way,what are we going to do now?"

Gauri asked and I answered.

" Well...let's wait till the criminal takes another step."
" I'm eager to know whosoever this person is."

"But .....what about your robbed data Tashi?"

Anushka asked raising her brows.

" No problem,I have the same data in my other devices which are there at home ."

" Look, Tashi....we know you really like crime series but you have to take care of yourself too,what if this criminal attacks you once again?"

Sanskriti questioned out of worry.

" Mhmm don't worry Sanskritiiiii, I'll be fineee!!"

" You better be,do you want any of us to stay with you?"

" Nah, I can manage myself."
" And also..I don't think that this thief would attack me again,he wanted data and he got it...that's all what he wanted I guess."

" Alright...."
"But he attacked you with slow poison and even stole your personal data."

Gauri stated trying to draw my concern to it.

" I'll see to it ."
"And as an order ,I want all this to be kept as a secret to all the workers in here . Who knows ...maybe one of them can be the attacker?"

" You don't have to worry about your secrets getting spilled out to them,you already know we are keepers ."

Anushka reassured as they all nodded in agreement and with that they all left for their homes while I again stayed late in the office to Complete my other tasks such as working on the apps I imagined about making.
