[CHAPTER 8]• SOAKED HAIR •
IT WAS THE MORNING OF THE FOOTBALL MATCH. The teachers against the students. It was raining so hard, my hair was almost soaked before Simone came with her umbrella. The match was starting but I wasn't really focused on that. My eyes were scanning the crowd for a certain one eyed boy.
I couldn't see him and I had been looking since the start.
"Who are you looking for?" Simone asked with a suspicious look on her face.
I shrugged my shoulders, "No one in particular."
I looked back at the game not trying to raise suspicion.
The students scored and all the boys went crazy, I let out a small giggle laughing at how excited the boys were yelling and jumping up and down. When they all jumped up I could finally see the boy I had been looking for al morning, my stomach felt weird, it made me really nervous. He was the only one who didn't seem excited, he was leaning against a wall and had his signature grumpy look on his face.
I was hoping he would look this way, but he didn't. His stare was fixated on the match, and it stayed that way. Was he just not gonna acknowledge me, maybe he thought yesterday was a mistake.
He finally looked at me, but with a cold gaze. I smiled and waved at him excitedly. He just directed his cold stare back to the match ignoring my hello. I started questioning myself now, was I too hectic yesterday, or did I maybe get the wrong impression of him. Maybe he was just being friendly for the project. I felt sad and didn't really understand the feeling in my stomach.
The teachers scored and all the student were booing now. I shook my head in disappointment, I heard a few of the fifth year boys say we were going to get our own common room with a record player and a smoking area.
If it wasn't for the pretty fifth year boys playing in the match I would've been bored already, Looking at mister Douillard playing football wasn't my fav thing to do.
One of the boys playing the match I recognized as Louis the one who stood up for me and Michele with her brother Jean-Pierre. I had always said hello to him in the hallways as a thank you, but I had never talked to him.
His hair was wet and while he was playing he wasn't that bad to look at, he was quite handsome and I caught myself staring at him for a little too long. I think he noticed and he sent me a wave while running after the ball.
The teachers scored again, and I could see even Michele was done with their football skills. I overheard that the students don't win very often.
It was half time, which meant the players had a short break to rest before they started the game again. Michele went after Annick so it was just me and Simone sitting there. But her attention was definitely not on me, but on Jean-Pierre.
