There I was again tonight
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired lonely place

I smiled as more and more people filed in. This party was so fake, they all were. My mother and father both think that these "parties" are traditional. These "parties" are nothing but fake rich people with their fake kids trying to all "fall in love" with more, or just plainly hook up with me. There's nothing real about this. My mother and father run a very wealthy company called Cherry Red Records. They sign a bunch of artists every year. Back to the party; after everyone is finally here we just dance and talk and introduce me all night. I laugh a stupid jokes until the party actually starts.

Walls of insincerity,
Shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw your face

There were tables against every wall, with 4 seats around the round table. I poured myself a glass of water and sat down at one of the seats. I watched as people danced around, wearing beautiful outfits and wonderful heels. I stood to look for my mother but someone caught my eye. He was tall and had a broad figure, he was talking to a guy and laughing. I saw the smile on his face as I moved across the room to find my mother. It was genuine, and beautiful. The little stubble on his face made me melt. He turned his head to see me just as I moved a step closer. I winked when I noticed he was looking at me, he then blushed and ducked his head.

All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you
Your eyes whispered, "Have we met?"
Across the room your silhouette
Starts to make its way to me

As I looked around I started walking to try and find my mother. In a split second I saw myself falling; I had tripped on someone's foot while frantically looking around. I was half way down when someone caught me. "Don't worry I got you." The voice said as it lifted me back up. When I looked up it was them same stranger I'd been looking at earlier. "Oh, thank you." I said then disappeared back into the crowd. When I watched him walk out into the courtyard I decided I had to follow.

The playful conversation starts
Counter all your quick remarks
Like passing notes in secrecy

On the way out I grabbed my black blazer so I didn't die of hypothermia. And so, I followed him outside, slowly buttoning my blazer so I wasn't cold. "You look like you work in an office." He said as I walked up beside him. I giggled a little and asked, "So, what's your name?"  "James." He replied and looked at me with beautiful dark eyes that made me feel safe by a stranger's side. "Well, I'm Alexia, but some call me Lexi." I told James, while looking up at him. I pulled my blazer closer as a small breeze brushed through the trees. "Look at all the stars." I looked up to see the stars sparkle like diamonds, and my hand unexpectedly grazed his. "Oh, sorry." I said and pulled away a little. "Those stars almost shine as bright as you do." All of a sudden he had his hand on my chin and his eyes were staring deeply into mine. "You're then most beautiful girl here tonight." He muttered "That was the plan." I whispered then felt his soft lips on mine. He kissed slowly at first, then got more passionate. As his tongue slid into my mouth I put my hands around his neck deepening the kiss. When he pulled away I just stared into his eyes. "What was that?" I asked him playfully, "An accident." He said then kissed the top of my nose and started walking away. "Who do you think you are?" I yelled at him when he was almost inside, a smile playing on my face. "Someone who just made a small mistake"

And it was enchanting to meet you
All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go

I brushed my fingers across my lips, who was that guy? And why do I feel like I just fell in love?  I counted to thirty before walking back inside. When I finally found my mother if I could just drive myself home, using the usual excuse of feeling sick. When she handed me the keys to my convertible I knew I was home free. I slipped into the car and immediately rolled the top up, not wanting to freeze in the night. That boy, he made my heart flutter just thinking about him. This night sparkled like the stars in the sky, and I hoped James remembered this night too.
