Ch1: Sweet Glasgow (part 1)
Twelve Years Later...
There are so many things I love about living in Glasgow but one I don't take for granted is the freedom to be just myself. And today was no exception.
I started my day by waking up next to my favourite person in the world and carefully got out of bed without making too much movement. While everyone else in the city still asleep, I put on my jogging suit and my worn out Adidas just like every morning and went down stairs trying not to make any noise. Once I got out on the front porch of my building I took a moment to inhale and fill my lungs with fresh air. As a ritual before every run I stretched my muscles while enjoying the beauty of the slow peaking sun from the east. Getting pumped up for the run I took a deep breath and headed toward the university.
After few laps around the university, feeling my muscles burn I headed back toward home. Power walking the last kilometre I slowed down my heart rate and felt the satisfaction from a fifteen km run. And last thing before getting back in the building I did fifty proper push ups.
Taking a very cold shower and getting dressed I headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. Getting two plates from the dishwasher and setting them on the table I made toasts, scramble eggs and two PB&J sandwiches. After making two English teas with milk I headed to the master bedroom to wake up AJ.
Waking up AJ is the best part of my morning. Seeing AJ under those white covers only makes me want to get back in bed and sleep in. But today is a big day for both of us and we can’t be late for our appointment. Sitting down on the bed next to AJ, I bend down and gave a long kiss on the lips. After a moment those lovely lips returned the kiss and I knew AJ was fully awake. Moving slightly away from the kiss I looked down at a smiling face radiating with love. She looked up at me with those bright blue eyes and reached my lips and started kissing me again. Even though we spent the whole night together, in the morning we still can’t seem to get enough of each other. I love how AJ can still make my heart flutter like a butterfly after all these years.
