"Draco! Behind you!" General Jokull Tovar roared. His subordinate, Commander Draco ducked an incoming blaster bolt, whirled around and shot the B2 battle droid that had fired at him straight in the processor with both of his DC-17s.

Jokull and his battalion of clones, the 527th, were currently on Geonosis, fighting in the last skirmishes of its second battle. Really just picking off the leftovers of the big sieges.

"Thanks, General," Draco said. "LOOK OUT!" Draco tackled Jokull out of the way of a speeding rocket.

"Thank you, Commander," Jokull said. The two had gotten ahead of themselves, and their squad, and had punched through the droid line. Of course, some help had come from Fang, one of the best shots in the Grand Army of the Republic, who was second only to Crosshair from Experimental Clone Force Ninety Nine.

"Fang, any clanker reinforcements coming?" Draco asked over the comms.

"None that I can see," Fang rasped, though that was his normal voice. He was no defective clone, but his vocal folds had come out swollen, and not a soul cared to fix them. And by now, Fang was too far down the road to do anything to fix his voice. Everyone was just glad it had stayed this way.

There was the sound of engines rumbling. An LAAT/i gunship lowered down close to the ground, with fresh troops hopping off and decimating the remaining Separatist droids. Then, a young, purple-skinned Togrutan woman in white and yellow robes and armor hopped off and approached Jokull.

She had a lightsaber at each hip.

"A Togruta?" Draco thought. "And a young one at that. Not that I mind, but... maybe too young? Well, too young and beautiful is more like it..."

"Master Jokull?" the woman asked. Draco tripped. The voice this woman possessed... absolutely jaw-dropping.

"Sydil?" Jokull replied, bewildered. "It's been so long!" The two embraced.

"I see you've picked up a few things since we last met," Jokull said.

"I did," Sydil said. "I'm supposed to be a Temple Guard, but I've been assigned to you as one of the commanders of your battalion for whatever reason. I'm sure the Council knows what they're doing."

"Interesting. Well, it was good to see you again, Sydil," Jokull smiled. "And believe me, I hate to cut the reunion short. But the Council will want a report on our progress. I will let you get acquainted with the troops." The Jedi Master walked off, ordering the clones to clean up and head back to their campsite.

"I'd give you my name, but I think you've already heard it," Sydil smiled, offering her hand to Draco.

"I did," Draco replied, shaking it. He was about a half head taller than the new arrival. "I'm Commander Draco."

"Well, Draco, it's a pleasure to meet you," Sydil said. "I apologize for dropping in unannounced. It was a sudden decision made by the Jedi Council. Sorry if... you get... demoted..." Sydil trailed off and gaped as Draco removed his helmet. He smiled and nodded in a knowing way.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare," she fumbled. "It's just... well..."

"You were expecting me to be a clone," he finished. She nodded. "It's alright. I've gone through that introduction before, and trust me, this round went better than most."

Sydil had to force her mouth shut. It wasn't just the fact that Draco wasn't a clone and a normal human. He was hot as kriff. The reddish wavy hair and those chocolate brown eyes...

"What do you mean, 'better than most?'" Sydil asked. "Ugh, how am I gonna not fall for him!?"

"Well, for starters, when I was first assigned to the 527th, General Jokull had ordered the men in advance not to attack me when I took off my helmet," Draco said, motioning for Sydil to follow him toward their campsite. "Some of the men didn't mind, others... needed to be restrained. Fang and I especially didn't start off too smoothly, but we got around that. By the way, let me warn you in advance... Try not to tick off the troops." He massaged his left cheek, chuckling. "They can throw a good right cross when it counts." Draco's voice was intriguing to listen to, alternating between the accent the clones had and a Northern American.

"What does tick them off?" Sydil asked curiously. "I'll need to know that so I can avoid getting attacked."

"Well, clankers for one," Draco chuckled. Sydil just looked at him in utter confusion. "It's what we call the droids."

"Ah," Sydil nodded.

"Then there's that one occasional situation where you have to leave one of them behind," Draco looked down, not exactly wanting to continue.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," Sydil said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"No, it's better to talk some things out," Draco sighed. "But I'll tell you later. Let me introduce you to the men. You'll need to learn the names before you can command the army."

"That is true," Sydil said. "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?"

"I'm 25, probably a little young for someone of my rank," Draco said.

"Wow..." Sydil muttered. "Well, for a non-jedi non-clone, that is a little young. I myself am 24."

"I see," Draco said. "If you don't mind, how did you meet General Jokull?"

"That would definitely be a reasonable question to ask, since we'll be essentially partners," Sydil said. "He and I met on Shili. I was with a hunting party that got captured by pirates, and were going to be sold as slaves. The man who nearly bought me had a... specific... purpose in mind..." She trailed off, not wanting to go down that line of thought again.

"It's alright if you don't want to talk about it," Draco said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"No, talking about it always helps. Like you said," Sydil said. "And I can always talk more about it later." She winked at him, to which he smirked. "Anyway, after the bidding was almost over, Jokull and another Jedi dropped in, quite literally. My buyer tried to run off with me, but Jokull lopped his arm off and protected me from anyone else who tried to grab me."

"I see. Well, I met the general when I was first assigned to this battalion," Draco smiled a smile of fond memories. Sydil looked away to try and hide her blush. "Middle of a battle, too. Dank farrik it was confusing. But even more off-putting was when the battle was over, and everyone took off their helmets." He chuckled a little.

"His smile is... oh, what's the word? Perfect," she thought. "What was so weird about it?"

"It was an experience, seeing the same face plastered on around five hundred men," Draco said. "Either way, I'm glad we got off on the right foot, Sydil. And, we're here." The pair rounded a corner to see a small camp near two LAAT/i gunships, one of which Sydil had arrived in.

"Can't wait to meet everyone," Sydil said.
