She's standing there her parents holding her phone
"What the FUCK Lexie," her father says clearly angry and met mother is pacing while he yells ",where did we go wrong? Our daughter, a lesbian? The devil's child I say" Lexie's crying her cheek still stings from her father's slap. "You're just confused honey," her mom says gently "You wouldn't sin like that." Lexie nods fidgeting with her hands "Well, what do you have to say for yourself?" her father looks at her expectingly "I-I'm sorry." Lexie choked "is that all? Go to your room, well send you somewhere Holy for school." her father said then muttered, "God save this girl."

Lexie walked upstairs and when she got to her room she collapsed onto her bed the despair sinking into a pit in her stomach
*God, what the fuck is wrong with me* Lexie thinks *can I even be saved, is all I am a sinner?* she took in her surroundings her room was spacious with a window seat that gave a view of the moon and stars, her walls had posters from past interests and hobbies and her LED lights shown blue. A desk and swivel chair sat across from her nicely made bed, the books and papers were organized, and a mirror and makeup drawer sat tastefully on the desk. All the money in the world couldn't help the fact that her parents didn't know how to raise a kid, they made her hate her vitiligo, body and they didn't know how to reinforce anything without violence or guilt. She dwelled on that before falling asleep

A few weeks passed before her parents approached her "Lexie we've decided," her father says looking to her mother "your going to a boarding school just the south of here" her mother nodded then said "siant rennald's school for troubled girls," she smirked with fake empathy "long Island new york. Now would you be a darling and fetch your mother some Siggerets?" Lexie wanted to retaliat but she thought better of it "yes ma'ma" she said and got ready before taking her mothers ID, money and lighter and walking to the corner store
                                     ☆
Lexie walks up to the register where a stunning girl sits looking at her phone she has face piercings and a red fluffy mohawk she was beau-
"hello?" the girl behind the counter says and Lexie realized she was staring and looked down "yes," Lexie responded "could I get a pack of Marlboro cigarettes" the red haired girl looked her up and down " I can't sell you those princess." Lexie was taken aback with the name but continued "it's for my mom." the girl maintained a flat expression "can I see an ID?" Lexie pulled out her mom's ID and showed it to the girl she studied it then pushed it back across the counter along with the cigarettes "that'll be 9.25" Lexie handed her a ten and she handed back the change and as Lexie walked out she heard the cashier mutter something in Spanish *these cashiers are always weird* Lexie thought as she swiped two of her mom's cigarettes as she always does and lights one even though she hates the taste of Marlboros it calms her mind yes she knows it's toxic but at this point she doesn't care she's being sent away for something she can't control and really with all of her parents banter she's starting to believe it, maybe she is just a sinner.
