Amy
By the time I got the call, it was 9:30pm. Immediately after the hospital finished their sentence I hang up the phone and cried.
I cried for days! How could this happen!?
I was paralyzed for weeks! I didn't even say good bye!
I needed Lucas! I need my best friend!I'll start from the beginning,
Everything started when we were about 12-13 years old.
Lucas was the typical popular boy. All the girls really liked him, he was very sporty, he had a lot of friends, he was pretty smart. He had shaggy blonde hair he would constantly shake and mess with. He had icy blue eyes that the light would reflect off of.
I was known as the drama girl, kinda weird, not really social, didn't talk a lot, smart, and I only had a few friends.
For some reason, one day Lucas came up to me and started to mess around with me. I just messed around with him too.
We became fast friends. Every football game he had, I would go to with him, every band concert he had I would go, and every drama performance I had, he would come.
One Saturday he had a game, he came and picked me up (as per usual) and then he gave me the most beautiful piece of jewelry I had ever seen! It had the two famous drama faces on it.
As he gave it to me he said, "Amy, would you wanna go to the fall ball thingy at school?" I was stunned! "Yeah! I'll go with you!" I said putting on my necklace.
We both smiled at each other the rest of the ride there.
"You're gonna win right?!" I asked jokingly.
"Obviously" Lucas replied smiling widely.
Lucas shook his dirty blonde hair. When he stopped shaking his head we made eye contact. I never noticed how blue his eyes are. They're beautiful.
We just kept staring at each other.
"We're here Romeo and Juliet!" Said Lucas's older brother Ryder.
"I wish" I said under my breath. I've always wanted to do the play Romeo and Juliet.
"Ryder!!!" Lucas yelled getting out of the car annoyed with his brother.
"Good luck!" Ryder said to Lucas who was currently running away from the car with all his stuff.
"Bye Ryder!!!" I said running to the stands.
Fast forward, Lucas DID win, 66-60.
When we got to the dance, our faces were as red as beets.
"Lucas!" Shouted Lucas's other best friend Austin. "So I was right all along!" Austin teased.
I glanced at Espen, Austin's "friend". "Espen! You look so pretty!!!!" I said sweetly.
"Thanks, same to you, except that necklace." Espen said looking me up and down.
I just faked laughed.
"Punch! Who wants some punch!?" I said trying to think of something else.
"Can you get me some?" Lucas said forgetting his manners. "Pleaseeee!" Lucas said regaining his politeness.
"Sure," I said going to the punch bowl.
"Any one else want a drink?" I asked looking at Austin who was sorta paying attention.
"Sure," Austin said shrugging.
"You hear that Espen? Austin wants a drink, go get him one." I said jokingly.
Espen didn't find it funny.
I ran to the punch bowl to get the drinks, when my favourite song started playing, "Fool's Gold" by One Direction.
I quickly grabbed the drinks, basically threw then at the people who wanted drink and ran to the dance floor to dance.
"I let you use me from the day we first met, but I'm not done yet, falling for your fools gold!!!!!!!!" I sang loudly.
I was dancing for a very long time when I saw that Lucas wasn't dancing.
"Lucas!? Why aren't you dancing!!!???" I said loudly, running to him.
"Amy! Get your coat on! We have go!" Lucas said looking at his watch and completely forgetting my question.
"Let's go!" I said putting on my jacket.
We ran out to Lucas's car which had just pulled up in front of the school.
"Thanks for coming with me Am's!" Lucas said blushing and out of breath.
"Anytime!" I said blushing even more than he was and out if breath.
When we got to my house I bolted out of the car saying, "Thank you for driving me Mrs. Canidell!"
"You're quite welcome Amy!!! See you tomorrow!" Said Mrs. Canidell.
"Be right back, Mom." Lucas said running after me.
"Bye Amy." Lucas said weakly and quietly.
"Huh?" I said unlocking my front door.
"Bye, Amy! See you tomorrow!" Lucas said with sudden energy and strength.
I waved goodbye and smiled.
"Hi! How was the dance?" My mother asked me.
"Really, really good!" I said smiling widely.
"That's good, now please get ready for bed." My mother told me.
"Ok" I said.
As I layed awake I wondered "Why'd Lucas seem like he was in so much pain?"
