Wanna bet? (The first time meeting)

Narrators POV

Kyle Shanahan and Jane Allen didn't have the most romantic first meeting. Oh most definitely not. It started out well let's just say... bumpy. Here, let me tell you the full story...... this story takes us back to the 2022-23 NFL season.

Today was the day that the 49ers played the Bills. It was scheduled to be a great game, considering how good both the teams have been playing recently.

Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers coach, was already having a bad day. He forgot his phone at home and was already running late. He needed to be at the stadium and ready by 2 and it was already 1:50 when he first arrived. Heading to his office to finish up some last minute things, he bumps into a young lady and makes her papers fall all over the ground. And when I say bumps... I really mean crashes into.

"Oh my god! Does anyone watch where they are going nowadays?" Kyle scoffed.

"I am so very sorry Mr. Shanahan" The young lady, Jane, replied.

"It's fine. Just maybe be more careful next time" Kyle replied with a harsh tone and continued his walk to his office.

Jane was stunned to have gotten that type of treatment from the Coach. She has heard some not nice things about him but didn't think much of it until now. Running into the opposing coach was definitely not her goal but here she was.

Jane traveled with her brother to almost every game. She loved watching football and she was working hard everyday to eventually become a sports reporter. For now, Josh was nice enough to invite his sister to come with him on away games and get her a sideline pass. Jane would take notes of the game and go home and write an article about how the game at gone.

As Jane continued to walk to the Bills sideline where Josh was, she saw a couple other 49er players that she loved. Including George Kittle which, don't tell Dawson Knox, is her favorite Tight End. She also passed by Deebo Samuel and Jimmy Garoppolo which she also has taken a recent liking to.

Jane got to the bills sideline and sat down close to the locker room so she could get some cool pictures of the guys. Waiting for them to walk out, she grabbed her phone and started scrolling through instagram.

"Hey, excuse me" Jane heard a voice calling and she slightly looked up from her phone. It was Kyle Shanahan.

"You're excused" She slightly rolled her eyes before looking up completely and finding his beautiful eyes.

"Haha." He faked a laughed "I deserved that. A thousand percent I deserved it. I'm sorry for being such a jerk earlier." He took a seat next to her on the ground.

"It's fine. It really is" She slightly smiled. He reached his hand out for her to shake

"My names Kyle by the way"

"Yea I know who you are."

"Well I kinda thought so, But I said it cause I wanted to know your name sweetheart"

"My names Jane." She took his hand and shook it.

"So Jane.. are we good now?"

"Depends... are you gonna let my brother kick your ass?"

"Who's your brother?" He looked over at Jane and smiled cluelessly.

"Josh Allen" She said and his demeanor slightly changed.

"So I've been fraternizing with the enemy then?" He stood up and offered his hand for her to take as well. She took his hand and that's when she noticed the slight height difference between the two. He stood at about 6 foot 3 and she was about 5 foot 10. Realizing how much he was looking down at her made her lady parts feel something.

"Sort of? I guess. I mean I'm his sister so I kinda don't have a choice."

"I mean you kinda do" he laughed. "You can come join the dark side" Jane laughed with him.

"I'm ok thank you"

"Here... how about a friendly little wager?" Kyle offered

"I'm listening" Jane put her hand behind her ear to emphasize the listening part.

"If the Bills win today... I will do whatever you want me too.... But if we win I get your number" Kyle smiled, happy with the wager he just proposed.

"I don't know...." Jane thought it over.

"If your so sure your brothers gonna kick my ass" He put that in air quotes "Then you should have no problem accepting this."

"Ok fineeeeee" She slightly smiled and reached out her hand to shake on it. He did the same.

"I will see you later to collect my prize" He winked at her before walking away.

As the game progressed it was clear that both teams wanted to win as much as the other. The fight and determination was strong on both sides. With a minute left to go in the game, the bills got the ball. It was tied 35-35.

"Come on Josh!" Jane cheered on her brother from the Bills bench.

"Come on Defense!" Kyle cheered from his crouched down position on the sideline.

Even from opposite sidelines Jane and Kyle could both feel the same anticipation and tension that was in the air. The whole stadium could feel it. It felt like a playoff game.

As Josh drove the bills offense further and further down the field, Jane knew what was coming. She's seen her brother do it plenty of times before. Just another game winning drive to add to the collection. And that's exactly what Josh did.

The Bills had beat the 49ers! It was a big deal for The Buffalo Bills. And it was going to hurt the 49ers for a while. As the 49er faithful crowd started leaving, the Bills Mafia crowd got incredibly loud. All the players shook hands and made their way off the field.

Kyle made sure to go over to the spot he had met Jane earlier. He waited for a couple minutes before Jane had come over to him.

"I was starting to think you weren't going to collect your prize." He joked with her

"Of course I'm going to collect my prize. I just got caught up with Josh for a second."

"So what do you want me to do?" Jane thought about it for a second. She could do something to get back at him for this morning, or she could ask for his number. The latter sounded more fun than the first one so that's what she went with.

"You know. I think I just want your number" She smiled and so did he.

"Yes ma'am" He replied. She grabbed out her phone and handed it to him. He input his number and handed it back to her with a wink.

"Text me soon. Don't make me wait. I don't care about that Ohh I'm texting him too soon type shit. Cause I don't care about all of that. I just wanna talk to you" He smiled as Jane blushed.

"Texted you right now" Jane said and they started walking in opposite directions.

"Bye Jane. Until we meet again in the Super Bowl"

"Bye Kyle. You wish your gonna make it that far" Kyle stopped and turned around.

"Wanna bet?" This made Jane turn around too.

And that was how Jane Allen and Kyle Shanahan first met. It wasn't the greatest meeting. But it sparked a romantic relationship that people started becoming jealous of.
