Phoenix's bond (rewrite)

First yr X-mas duel

As a gift for the first years to the new school and to help forget what had happened both Daphne and Harry had agreed upon a duel to somewhat show off their skills. With Flitwick as the ref so to speak and said "begin" thus the two had started.

Without warning, Daphne made the first move, sending a powerful spell towards Harry. He quickly deflected it with a shield charm and retaliated with a blast of his own. Daphne countered with a quick incantation, causing Harry's spell to veer off course and hit the wall behind her.

Their duel continued in this intense back and forth, each of them using their extensive knowledge of spells and counter-spells in an attempt to gain the upper hand. The rest of the students watched in awe as the two opponents continued to impress them with their dueling skills.

As the minutes passed, it became evident that this was going to be a close match. Daphne was skilled and determined, but so was Harry. They were evenly matched, each one refusing to give up until they emerged as the victor.

In a split second, Daphne saw an opening and sent a powerful curse towards Harry. He quickly dodged it, but not without losing his balance for a moment. Taking advantage of her temporary advantage, Daphne sent a disarming spell towards Harry.

But Harry was ready for it. He quickly cast a spell of his own, causing Daphne's wand to fly out of her hand and land at his feet.

The room erupted in cheers as the rest of the students congratulated Harry on his victory. Daphne, who had always been composed and confident, stood in shock as Harry picked up her wand and handed it back to her.

"Congrats Harry you've finally made it a tie again but next time I will win" she said as the two shared a quick kiss and hug. "And there you have it Hadrian Potter-Black wins" Flitwick said.

Harry then turns to the twins and scares the staff by simply saying the phrase "I solemnly swear I am upto no good."

When the hall had emptied Harry and the girls headed to the founder's tower entrance that was hidden behind the tapestry of Godric Gryffindor.

"Now why don't you four get started on your work with Tonks and Fleur watching over you. I need to speak to McGonnagal about two highly important things that I have found" Harry said as then leaves for her office.

By the time he reaches it he recites the password "knowledge is power" and enters.

"I would like to request Fawkes' help for when I have finished with the basilisk" Harry said as McGonnagal nods knowing she can't do anything to stop him but smiles at the fact he had requested for this instead of demanded it.

As Harry then leaves he is approached by Roger and five Slytherin's. "You will hand over the girls or we will use force" Roger said causing Harry to laugh.

"No you are threatening the Lord of your houses and I take full offence to that so I will not be talked down by a worthless little shit such as yourself" Harry snarls scaring the group a little.

However due to their stupidity they had tried to cast stunners as well as both the killing curse and crucio. But what happened next had come to no surprise as the culprits had only managed one spell as their wands exploded either causing the aggressors to have splinters and or loose their hands.

Harry then turns to the stunned portraits and asked "can one of you please inform their heads of houses and madame Tonks about this lot and that they are to be expelled for attacking the Hogwarts heir please?" The portraits coming out of their stupor could only nod in response.
