December 21st(Tuesday night) 2032
I was laying on my bed, some binders were on the floor, papers were on my lap, a pencil was in my hand. I just learned what happened, after I passed out. I needed to know why I passed out, and was complementing life. I was out for 11 days, during that time, I was basically sleeping. I still lost time though, I'm glad it was no one's birthday. Nothing happened during that time, my body didn't go into a seizure or anything, I just looked like I was distressed. They said I had kept sweating and shaking. They said the shaking got really bad, then I screamed, then I woke up.
Flashbacks of the "memory" entered my brain. And the blood on the floor, the screams of my mom and sister, splintered my brain. I shook my head, my hands were trembling, I needed some air. Stupid memory, triggered a stupid panic attack, I thought. I got up, the papers tumbling to the floor and the pencil slipping out of my hands. I stumbled into my boots.
"YOUR USELESS AVA! USELESS!!"
Walked out my door, grabbed my sword and walked down the hallway, down the tunnel, up into the cloudy starry night sky. I knew I needed to be careful, it was nighttime, the demons were more likely to be out.
But I didn't really care, I sucked in the cold damp air, my head was spinning.
"USELESS!"
My heart was racing, and I did the only thing that I could think of at the moment.
Run.
I didn't know what I was running from or why, but I just knew that I needed to run. And I ran and ran,
"USELESS" ran.
"USELESS!" ran.
Then I tumbled into the stream. I tripped on something and fell into the shallow water, onto the rocks. I let out a cry, and let myself lay there on the rocks, the cold water soothing my brain. The echoes of the screams slowly fading away.
A sob got let out, and after that I couldn't stop it from coming. They racked my body, the salty tears coating my tongue, and dripping into the water. I heard a rustle, then what sounded like a growl. A zombie growl almost.
Let them come, Ava.
No Ava, you need to protect yourself, you need to keep fighting.
I heard the dragging of feet coming closer. I tried to force myself up but I couldn't.
"Ava, you're not useless"
I heard a voice inside my head. My dad's.
Strength surged in my body, I sat up, I saw a hand grabbing for me. I stood up and slashed at the gray rotting flesh of the zombie that was standing before me. The lower half of the zombie collapsed to the floor, the other upper half of the zombie crawling towards me. I slashed, then slashed again, red splattered my shirt. I slashed, the cries of the gray being slowly fading away. I slashed again, I stabbed the head that was floating into the stream. I panted, gasping for breath. I let the air soothe my dry lungs, I let the peaceful sounds of the night soothe my tired brain. I wanted to let the forest engulf me, let it consume me, let it let me stay in peace. But I needed to get back to the base, I couldn't leave my friends. I took another deep breath then stood up.
But my ankle said otherwise, as soon as I put pressure on it, it hurt like hell, sharp pains tore through it. I cried in pain.
"Shit" I swore.
