Warchief sighed as he checked the time, sitting in the small lobby that was a small Spaceship.. He slouched in his seat, crossing his arms with a slight scowl. It was a bit hard to tell due to his resting bitch face.

"Where is he..?" Warchief mumbled out, tapping his foot against the ground.

Usually, Warchief doesn't mind Jelqer's tardiness, but today? The one time he had something special for Jelqer, he was late.

It'd been the day after Christmas, and of course, all day yesterday Warchief was spending time with his family.. The entire day was spent watching after his younger siblings whilst they ran around, his parents having prepped everything, as per usual. Entire time, Jelqer was texting him little small things he thought of or saw during his day, probably from online or just him looking out his window at the icy, white landscape. Jelqer never talked much about his family life, so he just assumed he was alone for the holidays. It made Warchief feel a bit bad, considering how Jelqer was such a sweet and caring guy.. So, of course, the only logical option that came to Warchief's mind was to get his pal a gift. They had been friends for a pretty decently long time, after all..

But even then, it still wasn't even something Warchief probably would have never considered years ago, he always just thought Jelqer had a family to spend time with during Christmas.. But maybe not. I guess yesterday kinda made him realize that. He doesn't even know what compelled him to, maybe out of kindness? Guilt? Annoyance? That strange, nervous, yet euphoric feeling he's been having around the rose-colored one? Maybe all of the above. But either way, Warchief's stubborn mind was set.

So, he got up earlier than usual to beat the rush of people returning duplicate gifts and spending all their money.. To get Jelqer a gift. It was quiet and peaceful, but it was cold, something Warchief hated. But at least it was quiet until the rush came, probably everyone sleeping in. While it was kinda sad to not have his buddy by his side, this was for a good cause.

Warchief looked down at the small present box next to him, sliding it a bit with his foot behind him so Jelqer wouldn't see it when he spawned in. He'd already texted him the lobby code, so it'd just be random when Jelqer came on in. But even then, Warchief was excited to see the look on Jelqer's face. Then, on the other hand, extremely nervous. Maybe it was due to that strange feeling or fear that Jelqer wouldn't like the gift, but he was nervous. Perhaps it was both..

His mind wandered to all the different scenarios that'd occur when Jelqer came in, knowing they hadn't seen each other in a day and a half, being busy with their own lives to meet up. A part of his mind wondered if Jelqer got him a gift, but of course, didn't expect it at all. Warchief was just elated to see his best friend again and to give him his gift.

At least he just made his lobby, so he HOPEFULLY didn't have to wait a little bit.. But still, every couple seconds he was checking the time with a groan, tapping his foot against the cold, metal ground of the lobby. Luckily, the lobby was private, so nobody had to see his impatient demeanor.. He was the crewmate of the month, nobody could see him in such a state, no, no, no. The crewmate of the month wouldn't be so impatient, so even with his impatience, he patiently waited for Jelqer to arrive, looking at the time.

Just as his thoughts wandered to where Jelqer was again, he heard the usual sound of somebody spawning in the lobby. Quickly, Warchief slid the present to the side to hide it, worried Jelqer would see it.

"Augh.." Jelqer muttered as he spawned in, wearing absolutely no winter clothes at all but his casual attire.. He was strange like that, never caring about the weather and wearing the same clothes he always wore... Some snow could be seen on his shoes and clothes, making Jelqer feel a bit cold.

"H-Hey, man! Good to see ya!" Jelqer greeted after he fully spawned in, his usual cheerful smile plastered on his face once he saw where Warchief was seated. Warchief nodded in return, giving him a wave as he got up from his seat with a slight chuckle, "Still don't have a coat, Jelqer?" Jelqer chuckled in response, rubbing his head with a slight nervous look, "No, uh.. I mean, it's only for a couple months of the year, and I don't have to go out THAT much!" Jelqer would rebuttal, standing up straight with a slight stretch.

His pal's response caused Warchief to chuckle, shaking his head with a mutter under his breath, "Weirdo."

After a bit of silence with Jelqer wiping the snow off him and Warchief just watching him, the purple one spoke after clearing his throat, his voice a bit shaky.

"So.. I got something for you."

"What?!"

Jelqer's face immediately lightened up, stopping getting the snow off his slightly damp clothes. His eyes widened with an instant ecstatic look, too excited to see the gift his best friend had gotten him. "B-But why?! You didn't have to, man! I know it's, like, the season of giving or whatever but.. Still! Didn't have to!"

A bit of a red flush crossed Warchiefs face, chuckling at Jelqer's enthusiasm and easily excitable nature. He rubbed the back of his neck while the taller asked him before the shorter answered.

"You were texting me all day yesterday, so I just.. Thought of getting you one." Warchief replied, crossing his arms and looking off to the side. Even with Warchief just being thoughtful, he still felt that nervous, euphoric feeling in his chest. He didn't know what it was, but it felt.. Mixed. Jelqer chuckled, smiling softly at Warchief and moving closer.

"Well, that was nice of ya, man. Really, you didn't have to, but.." His words trailed off as he moved closer to Warchief, placing a cold, grateful hand on Warchief's shoulder, "Thanks, bud. I really do appreciate it!" He flashed Warchief another smile, his sharp teeth showing off slightly.

The gesture caused Warchief's face to heat up, a slight look of shock on his face. Even if the gesture meant nothing, it meant the whole world to Warchief. That strange, nervous euphoric feeling welled up in his chest again, making him feel awkward as he started to stutter out his response to Jelqer. He chuckled, crossing his arms and backing away a bit, trying to play it cool even though Jelqer more than likely saw that, "Whatever, just being nice is all.."

He mumbled, turning a heel and walking back over to where he was seated earlier, crouching down a bit and grabbing the present. Jelqer watched with awed eyes, a look of excitement on his face like a literal child on Christmas.. Maybe because this was after Christmas, it did make sense! Warchief kept his back turned to Jelqer, who was flapping his hands a bit in excitement. The purple one chuckled, before speaking in a soft tone, "Okay, okay. You can have it, but promise not to be upset?"

"Promise!" Jelqer replied almost instantaneously. He was extremely giddy, practically behind Warchief with a beaming smile on his face.

Warchief rolled his eyes, a smile forming on his face from Jelqer's clear excitement.. He was so.. Endearing.

Without any more delay, he swirled around and handed Jelqer his present, crossing his arms and gesturing for the taller to open it. Jelqer stared down at it with clear joy, giggling like a child as he discarded the wrapping that Warchief spent delicately placing on there, a bit unhappy about it due to the amount of time he took on it, but oh well, at least he got to see that smile on Jelqer's face.. Even if it was already on his face, like, half the time. Warchief always loved to see it, it made him want to be happier or even be better.. It made him feel warm, and shockingly, he loved that feeling.

Jelqer tore apart the wrapping, revealing a box that was decently sized, but it was still carryable in his hands and fit. He raised a brow, looking up at Warchief with a tilted head. A slight smirk was on his face, "Jeez, bud. You didn't have to go all out," He chuckled, shaking his head, "Shush. Just open it," Warchief demanded in a tone full of lighthearted teasing, chuckling slightly.

The rose colored one giggled, moving back a bit and opening up the box, revealing his cuddly present.

Jelqer's face went into a look of shock and awe, absolutely shocked at his gift. He carefully took it out of the box, revealing a pink-ish red squid, resembling the Strawberry Squid. The smile on his face grew bigger, looking thrilled at his soft and comforting gift. Warchief knew Jelqer had issues with particular textures, so he made sure the plush toy wasn't too hard or too squishy. Perfect with fuzz and cuddly enough to snuggle with.

Warchief smirked as he saw Jelqer's face light up, his face softening. The shorter's eyes were genuine and caring, moving a bit closer to Jelqer whilst the latter inspected his new toy, noticing how soft it was. In a moment, Jelqer saw Warchief move closer, looking at him with a look of slight anticipation.

"Well, you like it?" Warchief would ask, his voice soft yet loud enough for Jelqer to hear him.

The taller beamed at Warchief looking down at him with a look of gratitude. He was overjoyed at the fact his best friend thought of him, seemingly appreciating him enough to get him such a cute, cuddly and soft gift.. The colors on the plush were a bit dull, resembling his color just a little bit, even if it was a bit more red with jewels on it. Jelqer looked up at Warchief after admiring his gift a bit more, moving closer to Warchief and wrapping him up in a big, grateful hug.

"Dude I f*cking love it!" Jelqer exclaimed, his voice loud and excited as he held his shorter friend in his arms. Warchief wasn't expecting the hug at all, starting to blush as his best friend spun him around and giggled. After a moment, he returned the hug with a chuckle of himself, taking a small note of how close they were. Of course, it was just an over-the-top hug, so the closeness was obviously going to be there.. But Warchief still felt his face grow warmer.

Even with Warchief's serious, stubborn and seemingly cold nature.. It all came crashing down the moment his best friend gave him a hug, or even made some stupid joke that didn't even make sense. It was like his demeanor just softened around him, made him feel, made him understand. Nobody else really had an impact, well, maybe his siblings.. But that was a different type of feeling. The feeling Jelqer gave him was.. Warm, soft and euphoric, but so, so nervous. It was like the sun, it hurt your eyes, but it felt nice.

Warchief didn't exactly know what this feeling was. But he liked it, even if he felt nervous around Jelqer, he loved this feeling.

His head went to the crook of Jelqer's neck, electing a slight hum from the taller at the gesture from his shorter, more sterner friend. Jelqer chuckled, smiling softly as he continued to hold and hug Warchief, no longer jumping around like a child after getting their favorite toy on Christmas.. Now, the hug was soft, warm, comforting.. And maybe even loving. The two friends just stood there, embracing each other. A part of Warchief was figuring out what these feelings were, while Jelqer already knew, a slight blush on his face.

After a moment, Warchief sighed and reluctantly parted from the hug. Jelqer let go too, even if reluctantly like his best friend, "I'm.. Glad you like it, Jelqer. I saw it and thought of you," Warchief would remark, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. Jelqer noticed a slight hint of red on Warchief's face, which made him giggle at the cute sight, "That's sweet," He mumbled, looking back down at the plushie with a soft look, eyelids half closed. The gesture was sweet, knowing Warchief thought of him, even if it was just over a lil' squid plushie. A bit of silence dawned on the pair, just for a few minutes as Warchief took a deep breath to calm himself down, not wanting these feelings to distract himself.

"Alright, well, we're here in the Lobby, should probably get playing, right?" Warchief would comment, crossing his arms and turning to the side, staring at his partner. The taller one nodded, thinking about what he'll do with the plushie, "Yeah, yeah. Probably should.." Jelqer mumbled in a reply, still examining the cute, fuzzy plushie.

Warchief smiled at his friend's cute nature, his expression softening as quickly as it hardened. The thought of thinking his friend was cute made him blush, surprising himself. Warchief shook his head to get rid of the thoughts, clearly in denial.

"Guess you'll have two partners today, huh?" Warchief chuckled, realizing he probably should've given the present to Jelqer outside of the game.. Oh well, he had it now.

"Well, two's always better than one. That's what everyone says about us, anyway!" Jelqer would reply back with a cheerful tone, holding the plush toy close as Warchief set the lobby to the public setting. He chuckled at Jelqer's remark, thinking about all those times people have ragged over them "teaming" or just being good at the game. It was funny, and certainly, he was glad to have met Jelqer, even if he was a bit "odd".. He was endearing.

And Warchief liked that.
