Fever Dreams // A Tagoti Sickfic

Chapter 2

The car stops at Tabi's house. Agoti knew his older brother Aldryx would be picking him up soon, but he had to call the older digidevil to see if he could stay with Tabi for a while. Until Tabi gets better, that is. Agoti gets out of the car, thanks the driver, picks up Tabi, and walks up to the door. He rings the doorbell, and- Rei, who was Tabi's younger sibling answers it. "Oh, hey assho- wait...TABI?!"

TIME SKIP

"Nii-chan..." Len was in tears as she looked at her sick brother. Tabi looked horrible. His face was pale, except for the bright red flush on his cheeks and his breathing was harsh and labored. Sweat beaded his foreskull and he felt hot to the touch. He coughed and sneezed a bit and when he breathed, it sounded like he was dying. Agoti frowns at how pitiful Tabi looked while Rei comforted Len. "I always knew this would happen," they remarked. "He is always working 15 hours every day at night. I barely see him having fun or resting." "It must've been him falling into the stream as well." Agoti looks at the sick other. "Is he going to...no...he can't..." Len cries at the thought of Tabi being dead. "He won't, kid." Rei replies, but they too, were skeptical. They knew that Tabi worked every day for 15 hours, and never took a break. "Is there anything you can do to help him?" they asks Agoti.

Agoti thought for a second. In the animes that he watched when he was younger, when a character was sick, they usually made soup or rice or something like oatmeal. Agoti knew it. He would make soup for Tabi! "I'll make soup, and it'll be just for him!" A devilish smile appears on Agoti's face at the thought of making soup for Tabi. Rei looks at Agoti strangely. Of course, making soup for someone is a great idea, but they were suspicious of Agoti. By the look of that face, they knew Agoti would make some "special" soup. "I'll just go get some medicine from the drugstore. Len, come with me."

IN THE KITCHEN

As Rei and Len were getting medicine from the drugstore, Agoti stirs the mixture as he makes the soup. Judging by what the soup looked like, it did not look like soup at all. The broth was a normal color, but there was some weird items in it: mystery meat, ginger (not finely chopped), a whole bay leaf, and some corn flakes to name a few. A few people have gathered around the window to see what Agoti was cooking. "What the fuck is he doing?" "Is that even soup?" "Who the hell puts corn flakes in a soup?" "What kind of recipe is this?" "Does he even know how to cook?" Agoti, unaware of the crowd, looks at the "soup." He takes a bite. It was ready. He poured some into a bowl and headed to Tabi's room.

Rei and Len were back from the drugstore with the medicine. The two got to their brother's room, and Agoti was gently shaking Tabi to wake him up. Tabi finally woke up after the 10th time Agoti shook him. "Wha- what am I doing in my room?" Rei places the medicine on the nightstand next to Tabi's bed and replies. "You're sick. Len and I have got you medicine and Agoti is making you soup." "IT'S DONE!!!" Agoti bursts into the room with the "soup" and shows it to Rei. "This'll make him feel better in no time!" Rei took a look at the "soup." Their eyes widen as they saw what it was. It looked inedible, with the badly chopped ginger, the whole bay leaf, and were those corn flakes?! "THAT'S NOT SOUP! WHY THE HELL DID YOU PUT CORN FLAKES IN IT?! YOU CAN'T HAVE MY BROTHER EAT THIS SHIT!" "How 'bout I put some garlic powder in it then?" "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?! KILL HIM?!" "I'll eat it." Rei and Agoti turn around to see Tabi, still fatigued and fevered, but eager. "Because Agoti made it for me." Pretty soon, Agoti and Rei got into a fight. After a bit of fighting, Rei burst out of the room. "That little shit," they muttered under their breath. Len, following them, said, "You know Agoti put all his hard work into making that soup." Rei pauses and responds that it was nothing. 

Agoti sets the "soup" down. "Ok Tabi, you can eat it now." he says. Tabi looked at the bowl and just sighed. "You can't feed yourself right now?" Tabi nods. "For real?" Tabi nods again. Agoti picks up the spoon from the bowl. "Just warning ya, it's a bit hot." Agoti moves the spoon towards Tabi's face, and misses Tabi's mouth, getting his cheek instead. Tabi winced in pain as the spoon hit his cheek. "Oh, sorry about that," Agoti replied nervously. "Maybe I shall stir it up to c-" Agoti knocked the bowl to the floor. "Shit..."

"You dedicated your hard work to make this for me, but now-" "It's ok. I'll make a new batch." Agoti cleans up the spilled "soup" and begins to make another batch. Pretty soon, it was ready, and much better than the one he made earlier. Agoti carries the newly made soup up to Tabi's room. The sick other was already awake from Vuokko shaking him earlier. "Can you eat a little?" Agoti asked Tabi. "I suppose I can." Agoti gently blows on the spoon to cool down the contents of the soup. He didn't want a repeat of what happened earlier.

Agoti places a hand on Tabi's foreskull. "Jeez. Your fever hasn't gone down. Might as well get some ice for ya while I'm at it." Agoti leaves the room and began to look for some ice in the fridge. There was a huge chunk of it in one of the compartments. That'll do the trick. Tabi'll feel better in no time! Agoti takes the ice out of the fridge. He makes a fist, and punches the ice all over. Perfect! Now he can feel better!
