Satine Miller

Satine Miller was the second and only surviving daughter of Joel Miller, born to a mother she never knew. From a young age, Satine understood that she had been unplanned, even going so far as to label herself as "unwanted." Her existence was the result of a fleeting one-night stand.
She never got the chance to know her mother, who vanished without a trace about a month after Satine was born, leaving the newborn girl in Joel's care.
Growing up in the harsh environment of the QZ, Satine didn't have the best childhood. Beyond the struggles of their world, she always sensed a deep-seated resentment from her father. Their relationship was far from the typical father-daughter bond, and Satine found herself largely fending for herself, learning to navigate life on her own.
But Satine wasn't entirely abandoned. Tess was a sporadic presence in her life, stepping in when she could. Tess occasionally managed to push Joel into making an effort to be a father to Satine, but these attempts never lasted long.
