Humans are space orcs- slight angst

Yuu sat on their "room" floor with a blaring migraine from their forced slumber. The room was more like a cell with white padded walls; the only wall that wasn't padded was the front wall, a glass wall for what they assumed was observation. The cell differed from their old enclosure; when a group of aliens first abducted them, the aliens had them confined to a small cage. They were put in a room full of other cages with strange animals. All sorts of aliens came and went, observing them and the other creatures, their stomach dropping. Was this some sort of space auction?! They couldn't do anything, trapped in a cage, far from everything they knew. They had no way to escape the prying eyes of beings that only saw them as an animal, as an item to buy.

They didn't know how long they were trapped in that cramped cage at the auction. Eventually, some strange-looking aliens came by, peering down on them; the aliens spoke some strange language with each other before speaking with the alien that brought Yuu there. They noticed how many of the aliens spoke the same and different species-specific languages. They didn't know if species was the correct term, but Yuu couldn't care less; kidnappers didn't deserve respect. The auctioneer made some strange warbles and pulled out a device similar to a tablet. The apparent leader of the alien group did something on the tablet. Yuu didn't have time to panic or even process what just happened as a strange gas surrounded them, their mind felt cloudy and their eyelids felt heavy. Their last thought before falling asleep was, "Well, shit."

When Yuu woke, they were thankfully in a larger space. They were in a strange room with three glass walls; the ceiling had a simulated visual of the sky and a few trees and other earth plants in the area. Aliens would come by and gawk at them, pointing, tapping on the glass, and taking photos with strange devices. After a while, the simulated sky would dim and show the image of the night sky; they assumed it was simulating a day-night cycle. Once in a cycle, an alien would enter their enclosure wearing padded armor, holding a stick-like device, and drop a food bowl. Why take so many precautions, they thought? They couldn't be that dangerous.

They had no clue how long they were at the weird space zoo. They just knew many days had passed. While it was dehumanizing and humiliating to be treated like a wild animal and to be stared at and watched all day, it wasn't the worst outcome they could think of. They got fed once a day; while it was some tasteless mushy past that was a sensory nightmare, it was food. They had an automated water bowl, which was too heavy to lift, so they had to drink from it like a dog. Human tongues were not designed to lap up water like that. They didn't have much to do in their enclosure; watching the simulated sky got boring quickly and made them homesick. But they were alive, they were alive and not some mad alien scientist test subject.

It was another typical dull day; some aliens came by to point and stare, stating things in that strange language. Yuu had started to try to learn the language, which was incredibly difficult when many of the words were growls and grunts, and the only thing they had to go off of was body language. And studying body language was bullshit when it was highly unlikely that every alien species shared the same body language. So, all in all, it was a typical day until the power cut off and alarms started blaring. This could not be a good thing. They could hear some sort of commotion and what sounded like yelling. People were running around. It was pure chaos. Eventually, a group of aliens in some weird armor barged in; they seemed to be armed with weird space guns. Yuu wondered if space guns worked similarly to Earth guns; while they had never used a gun, it couldn't be that hard. They watched YouTube videos.

The strange alien group rounded up the other aliens, taking them out of the room. A short alien walked up to their enclosure before stepping back in fear at the sight of them. The short bitch had a gun, what were they afraid of?! A scrawny high school orphan in what is essentially a large fish tank?!

Trey watched the kalpregina stumble back from the enclosure. That worried him. Riddle didn't often show fear. He was, in Cater's words, "Tiny but Mighty." It must be great for something to scare him enough to break his composure, especially in front of his underlings.

"Riddle? Is everything okay?" Trey asked his old friend, worry evident in his tone.

Riddle quickly regained composure, but Trey could see the unease on his face.

"I'm fine, Trey. Cater, I'm putting you in charge of the group for now; start apprehending the rulebreakers and containing the contraband."

"Aye, aye, captain!" The diaeffingo replied in his usual chipper tone. Leading the others out of the room, leaving just Riddle, Trey, and whatever was in the tank. Riddle gestured for Trey to take a look. Trey took careful steps forward, peering through the reinforced glass; a fledgling terren was in the enclosure. How in the Great Seven did they manage to capture the most dangerous species in the galaxies? A fledgling no less, it was common knowledge how protective Terrians were over their young. Great precautions must be taken to prepare the fledgling to be reintroduced to the wild safely.

Yuu looked up in confusion at the strange creatures; the taller one was dark green with fuzzy fur covering its body. They had large golden eyes covered with goggles and were bear-like. The other was much smaller, very tiny compared to the larger alien. They had soft red skin, white spots, and small quills sticking out randomly. Their face was small and round with grey beady eyes; a strange ring around their neck glowed.

It was staring at them; Riddle knew how dangerous terrains could be. His mother had told him many horror stories as a young kalpet. Even though it was only a fledgling, it would still be necessary to handle it with utmost precaution. Trey and Riddle looked through the building, finding a small room in the back leading to the terrens enclosure; they found a tub of food, a water tank, a set of armor, a shockstick, and a gas tank. The writing on the tank informed the two that it was to be used for emergencies, to debilitate the terren. Riddle adorned the suet, ensuring the face shield was tight; this gas was hazardous; for most creatures, any contact with this gas could be a death sentence. He grabbed the shocker and prepared to enter the room.

Yuu watched as the door to their enclosure was opened. It was clearly a different person wearing the suit; with how it sagged on the stranger's frame, they could assume it was the red alien from earlier. They stood there staring at them. It felt like a staring contest. Eventually, the red alien took something off their back, revealing a gas canister. "Not again." they thought before the gas did its work.

When the Terran was completely unconscious, Riddle brought it out of the enclosure. Trey took it from him, carrying the sleeping fledgling back to the Heartslabyul ship. They would safely contain it in an enforced holding cell. They would contact the Night Raven Captain for the best course of action.

I'm debating turning this into a full book, let me know if this is something anyone would be interested in!
