Flynn was startled out of sleep by the sound of birds, and he yawned, wiping the sleep from his eyes. After pushing the sheets aside, he slipped to the bed's edge and proceeded to his calendar, which was hanging on the wall next to the bed. The man dressed fast and stepped outside into the brisk cold, shivering a little as he slipped his jacket on. Moving in the direction of his mailbox, he took out his mail and tucked it into his jacket pocket before taking care of his livestock and crops. After finishing, Flynn walked back inside to prepare breakfast while rubbing the cold off his shoulders. Taking some bacon and eggs out of the refrigerator, he went over to his and began preparing to cook. When he was done, the man went to his kitchen table, put down the dish, and then retrieved and tossed his mail in front of him. After rummaging through his mail for a few minutes, the younger man took up the somewhat sunburned envelope containing the letter, opened it, and began to read.

Hello farmer, we hope to see you at the annual Pelican Town County Fair. There will be games and tons of food, we hope you attend this year and celebrate another year passing with friends and family.

-Mayor Lewis

Flynn quickly scarfed down the rest of his breakfast, hopped onto his horse Buttercup, and started galloping toward town. As he grew closer towards town the male noticed the county fair being set up in the town square.  He had never attended a county fair before, but once he heard that Alex, the ex-jock was attending Flynn had to jump at the chance. After tying Buttercup up to the fence, the male quickly rushed further into town. He could feel his heart racing with excitement as he got closer to the entrance. The smell of freshly cooked food and the sound of music filled the air, and he felt like he had stepped into a world of wonder. As Flynn walked around, he saw people enjoying themselves. Children were laughing and running around, while adults were indulging in the various food stalls and playing games. The bright lights of the carnival rides added to the festive atmosphere, and Flynn felt like he was in a dream. The male continued further into the town, noticing the ex-jock helping the mayor set up the final tent. "Alex!" Flynn called rushing toward the other male.

Alex turned his attention and smiled softly, "Flynn, you made it. I thought you were going skip this year again?" He quizzed.

"I thought I should give it a go this year," the younger man said, rubbing the back of his head. This time, get to know everyone." He answered nervously. Thickly swallowing, Flynn studied the elder man before him. The younger man saw that the jock's jacket was only partially zipped, giving the impression that his rotund tummy was larger than it was. Flynn wanted to go this year because he felt Alex, the football player, was gradually caving into temptation and also because Alex's arms and cheeks appeared larger than they did the year before. should ideally tip the scales and demonstrate to Jock the enjoyment of food.

"I'm happy you could make it; I'm almost done helping the mayor. Perhaps we can hang out afterward," stated Alex.

"I'd love to," Flynn muttered, picking at his nails for a few minutes. After Alex and the mayor left, the younger male turned his attention toward some of the games. After a few attempts, Flynn managed to win a stuffed horse, which he'd probably put in one of the barns for the animals to enjoy. The younger male continued walking around for ten minutes, admiring the different colored tents and food stands. Gasping as a hand clamped down on his shoulder and spun around, Flynn relaxed slightly when he met Alex's eyes.

"Jumpy much?" He chuckled.

"I don't come out much, you know that," Flynn answered, blushing slightly. "So do you want to go on some rides?" The male was quizzed.

"I don't know, Flynn. I'm not really into rides," Alex replied, looking apprehensively down at his stomach.

"But you're missing out on all the excitement! It's not every day we get to go to the county fair," Flynn insisted.
