Pov Ricky

Class seemed way more interesting now. Ricky could understand everything without any problems.

He noticed how Jiwoong kept staring at him, and he kinda liked it. He didn't know why he liked it.

He usually hated it, but today was different. He just couldn't wait to go out and finally talk to him properly, for the first time.

The break seemed really far away, and Ricky got bored. He wanted to talk to him again, now.

He raised his hand, and asked for permission to go to the toilet, and the teacher gladly allowed him to go.

Ricky stood up, and before leaving, he stopped in front of Jiwoong's desk. He gave him a slight smile, and secretly motioned him to follow him.

Jiwoong nodded, and Ricky left quickly, making his way to the bathroom. A thought of Jiwoong never showing up, just for revenge, passed through his mind.

But Jiwoong wasn't that kind of a person. Soon, the door opened, and Ricky's eyes lit up as he saw him.

"What's wrong?"

Jiwoong asked, kinda worried. He wasn't used to Ricky talking to him in any way, and he didn't know what to think.

Ricky just went closer to him, and hugged him. Jiwoong looked confused, but gave him a hug back anyways.

"How about we work on the project at my house this time, hyung?"

"Definitely."

Ricky sighed relieved, and took out his phone. He hesitantly gave it to Jiwoong, so he could write his phone number on it.

"What? Why?"

"Um... So I can text you my address."

Jiwoong smiled and wrote down his number. He then gave it back to Ricky, who hugged his phone, and looked at Jiwoong right in the eyes.

"Thanks. Imma head back to class now. See ya."

He winked at Jiwoong, and quickly went back. Matthew looked at him, like he was waiting for him to tell him something good.

"What?"

"What happened there?"

"Nothing. I completely ignored him when he followed me."

Ricky said, and when he stopped talking, Jiwoong came into the classroom, with a smile on his face.

Ricky quickly took out his phone, and texted Jiwoong his address, something that the elder didn't notice.

"Why is he smiling?"

"Matt, please stop asking me weird questions. I don't know and I don't care. Okay?"

Matthew looked back at the teacher, and Ricky gave Jiwoong a small glance. He liked his smile.

He never thought he would. Maybe Jiwoong wasn't as bad as he thought. He had to give him a chance.

"Did you go to his house?"

"Obviously not. But you know, I felt bad, so we'll work on the project tonight."

The elder smiled, and looked at Gunwook, at the other side of the classroom. He also noticed Jiwoong, who was looking at Ricky.

"He's staring at you."

"For God's sake, I don't care about Jiwoong!"

Ricky shouted, and the whole class went quiet. He looked around him, and everyone was looking at him, including Jiwoong.

Only that Jiwoong had his eyes wide open, and he seemed really sad with what he heard.

Ricky apologised and sat back on his chair. He turned around, and looked at Jiwoong, who, for the first time, wasn't looking at Ricky.

He was only looking at his desk for the rest of the first period, and not only the first period.

He was avoiding him for the rest of the day. Ricky could now feel how Jiwoong was feeling every day.

Except that he wasn't in love with Jiwoong. But he already missed his hug. And his smile.

"Ricky? Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I just... Don't wanna work with Jiwoong."

"Don't you think you've hurt him a lot? Isn't it enough? You should leave him alone."

Ricky shook his head no, and looked away, trying to hold back his tears. He just hoped that Jiwoong wouldn't do what he did to him last night.

"School is almost over there's only one last class. I can't wait to go home."

"Come on, it's English. I'm half Canadian, you're fluent in English, so we won't have to pay attention."

"Right."

The younger smiled, and once the bell rang, they headed back to class. For a weird reason, every class was surprisingly quiet after the first period.

Probably because of what Ricky said. Even at this class, where every time everyone acts crazy, they were all paying attention to the teacher.

But Ricky and Matthew didn't do it at all. They were either on their phones or talking to each other.

"Kim Jiwoong. If I say 'Last time I decided to travel, I blank my ticket blank directly to my office.' Fill in the blank. You have to use an other... version of the words 'have' and 'send'."

"I... Uh..."

"May I help, sir?"

Ricky suddenly said, when he was supposed to be talking to Matthew about something serious.

But at that moment, nothing seemed more serious than Jiwoong. He had to help him with his English.

"Sure. Go on."

"We'd say; 'I had my ticket sent directly to my office'."

The teacher congratulate him, and the elder boy quietly thanked him. Ricky nodded, and looked back at his best friend again.

"Why did you help him?"

"I wanted to show him that I'm better than him, duh."

Matthew rolled his eyes, and took out his phone. Right when Ricky started to think that maybe he shouldn't hide the fact that he cared, one of his other friends spoke.

"Yo, Ricky! You helped this gay, are you gay too?!"

Ricky's heart felt like stopping. He couldn't be something he didn't like. There was absolutely no way.

"Shut the fuck up, I hate him."

Ricky said, but slightly winked at Jiwoong. He wanted to show him that he didn't mean any of the things he said, but without anyone noticing.

"Boys! Quiet! I'll kick you both out of class if you keep this homophobic shit up!"

Ricky nodded, and sighed. So, he couldn't freely show that he cared about someone who liked boys. Being called gay was one of his nightmares.

Everyone knew how much he hated them, and how Matthew had a 'girlfriend' so they didn't pay attention to them being close.

But in their eyes, whoever spent a minute with Jiwoong was automatically gay too. And Ricky didn't like that at all.
