❝ AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!❞

Although I'm steamed in weariness, have to wake up in morrow, and that mom and I had made a commitment to complete whatever my little brother tells me, he hollers his pleura out at night almost echoing his repeated words over and over for me to do another mind-trick, not realizing that it's too late, and we're under the roof of our room awake without our parents' notice. I just sigh shushing him down ❝Okay, okay. Cut it out.❞

He cackles. I lock my eyes into his chocolate ones and just goggle letting my mind wander through his. While doing that, he snickers. ❝Don't do anything unless I tell you to.❞ I offer, but he revokes. I keep myself soothed and target hard on his face, but all he does is some horrible awkward facial expressions, mimicking me. ❝ How am I suppose read your mind if you keep on interrupting!❞

❝Okay I'm sorry.❞ his eyebrows knit downwards as if trying to concentrate hard now.

❝So you're thinking of-❞

All of the abrupt, the lights of the range flick bright and the door creaks wide sending cold wind to my entire spine. That means one thing; I'm in trouble.

❝ Why are you both still awake? ❞ Just like what you see in movies where those vile creatures appear with smoke and thunders erupting behind them, giving you a suspicious look; yeah that's mom. She stands there wearing her pajamas with her face masked in green and two well-chopped cucumbers on both sides of her eyes. One of them falls down and Danny, my brother, slithers and takes a bite from it. ❝ Why can't I hear answers?❞

If I post the truth, Danny would have me killed once mom gets out of the room, because he was the reason of us waking up. He's already planning my funeral, I guess. I look at my two impoverish turtles who are floating desperately in a huge aquarium filled with water (Don't ask) and polluted lettuce, searching for at least a brand new one. ❝I just... woke Danny and I up to grab some lettuce for the turtles, I'm afraid of going downstairs alone.❞

❝Since when are you afraid to go alone?❞ She asks.

❝Since I started to really encounter ghosts and entities.❞

❝Okay, look. Ghosts, or whatever they are, are not real, neither psychics or whatever you're going to say next as a defense. So stop acting like one for fudge's sake.❞

❝ Yes they are, mom. And she was just reading my mind!❞ Danny stumps his foot in frustration.

Oh?  My little kid is interested in fake beliefs more than his studies?❞ She then points at me, ❝Tell you what: You are officially grounded, young lady. You'll teach Danny from now on for four hours a day and NO money paybacks. Comprehend?❞

❝BUT MOM- ❞ Danny and I protest.

❝No buts. Now, go to bed.❞ She slams the door, almost it's edges slitting off. I groan walking to my bed and kick my pillow.
