🌧 🌧 🌧
Three days passed; Taehyung's discharge arrived, and the boy was able to return home with his mother, only to lock himself in his room, to die of boredom.
He had time to read the acceptance letters from the universities, analyzing what would be the best option for him; preferably, one that was the furthest away from his current house, desperately looking for a reason that would allow him to get out of there. He sent his response to the chosen university and when the call from the academic affairs coordinator came to his cell phone, they informed him of the established dates to enroll and the start of his classes.
His vacations wouldn't be very long, if he thought about getting a part-time job, at least a month before he had to start studying, to give him time to rent a place. He reviewed the jobs page of the newspaper ever day, enclosing the alternatives that were closest to his capabilities; most of them in small stores, as a delivery man or waiter, also some dishwashers and deliveries. Nothing fabulous. Taehyung snorted reluctantly.
—Why are you scribble that newspaper? —consulted his mother, with an inquisitive look.
—I'm looking for part-time jobs —he answered sincerely. In any case, sooner or later the woman would find out about his plans.
—You don't need one, you live well here —was her answer. —Do you lack food on the table? —her tone was annoying.
—I don't lack anything —he confirmed. —But I intend to stand on my own, once I start my classes at the university —his mother's expression was a poem. —I'll also look for a room to rent... or an apartment on the roof, I don't know... there are quite a few options.
—No, you can't —sentenced the woman. Taehyung looked at her surprised by the harshness of her voice. —If you think you're going to leave here to sleep with that doctor again... You're very wrong! —she huffed, raising her voice. The chestnut rolled his eyes, pissed off at the situation.
—Mother, I'm an adult now and you can't tell me what to do with my life —he declared. —Besides, dad supports me —that statement hit the woman like a bucket of cold water, reddening her face.
Taehyung, noticing the anger in his mother, preferred to run to his room, before things got out of control.
The next day was no better; the boy had to go to have the bandage that still covered his nose removed, and his mother refused to let him go alone.
—Leave him alone, Yangmi —Taehyung's father commented, looking at his wife with a tired face. —He won't get lost, he's already a man.
—You know that's not why I'm saying it —she argued, crossing her arms, seeing herself alone in the discussion.
—Look, I don't agree with what Tae did either, but... what else can we do? —the father shrugged his shoulders. —It's done and, it better be with someone decent, with a profession, than looking for a drug addict or something worse —the woman next to him seemed to want to blow smoke out of her ears, while the minor watched the discussion from his place on the individual sofa.
