Marnie stared at her own reflection, in the now lit bathroom, the candles flicked out when the door opened. She stared at her black dyed hair and mostly brown hazel eyes. Blood dripped from her nose and onto her hand. Her eyes focused on the woman standing in the door frame, long, gorgeous curly hair, blue eyes that almost looked silver. The elegantly beautiful sorcerer Marnie came to know as July.

July sighed softly, stepping into the bathroom.

" Are you so naïve as to believe what our adversaries have to say about mirrors?" She asked. Marnie turned around to face her directly, wiping the nosebleed off from her face.

" You wouldn't understand." Marnie said. July shook her head.

" No. I don't. They are liars. Why would you trust them?" July asked, handing a tissue to Marnie.  " even a lie has a little truth sometimes. Mirrors aren't just for grooming. "

Marnie shrugged. July picked up the candles. " Sam is gonna be fuming if he sees you've got wax on his floors. this house is over 300 years old y'know. " July sighed.  Marnie wiped her face.

" These floors are NOT 300 years old. Just like my mother's 'fancy, ancient, intricate' dinner table isn't actually 300 years old. " Marnie huffed. July shook her head.

" they are too. " She said, leaving the bathroom. Marnie followed her out.

It was after a long night of drinking, 2 years ago, when the dive bar finally closed. 2 am, the lights go on and the bar tells you to get out. so Marnie drunkenly strolled back to her apartment, laughing away at her fun hijinks.  Until the walk home wasn't fun. A flash of white, followed by a raging migraine. Marnie blankly stared at the bright change of scenery, it went from a dark, dusty desert to a grassy field and a road leading up to a village. a sign, Slaithwaite.

" Are you alright, little lady?" asked an old British man, staring at the girl.  She looked up, feeling her nose and seeing the blood.

" Little Lady? " asked the old man again. It all turned black as Marnie felt herself slam into the asphalt.  It felt dark for so long, until Marnie woke up, in a hospital bed, in hospital clothes, with a nurse changing an IV and a man with messy blond hair sitting in the accompanying seat. He smiled. She could see his green eyes, freshly growing stubble. He smiled brightly.

" Marnie! you woke up, how are ya? you take to the liquor a lot for a lil thing, don't ya?" He asked. Marnie felt bombarded. the Nurse stepped away. the blond closed the door, loosing the cheery, charming composure.

" You're freaking out. " He said plainly. Marnie huffed.

" Where am I, who the hell are you, and what the hell kinda prank show is this??" She asked, trying to take out the IV. The British man stopped her.

" No,no, don't do that. it'll hurt. don't. " He said. Marnie stared.

" answer my question. " she huffed.

" You're a rather rude little girl, aren't ya. who knew teens would be in the game. " He said. Marnie's eyes widened.

" Teenager?? TEEN??" She huffed. The man shrugged.

" Teenager. you're not an adult just because you feel like you are. " He said. Marnie shook her head.

" I'm 22. " She said. The man laughed.

" 14- 15 maybe, but you don't gotta lie. you're not grown just yet, love. " He said. Marnie blinked in shock and confusion.

" woah, woah, woah, look, I may be baby faced... but I'm 22. TWENTY TWO, I was leaving the bar when I ended up, where ever the hell...this is. I have a job, I pay taxes, I am a voter. FOURTEEN??" She said. The man shrugged.

" I don't think you're 22. " He said.

" WHO ARE YOU??" asked the girl.

" Sam. " He replied.

" SAM WHO??" She asked.

" Well,  you'll find out eventually. " He shrugged.

" No, I'll find out NOW. " She said. Sam stood up, sighing.

" I'll go get that nurse to take out the saline, we've got loads to talk about. " He said, leaving. Marnie laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. She was utterly bewildered.

July sat on the sofa, turning on the tv.

" the lads said they have a surprise for you. " She said, getting more comfortable. Marnie sat next to her.

" what kinda surprise? if they try to give me something with barely again, I'm gonna get mad. I'm ALLERGIC- it's not funny. " Marnie huffed. July shook her head.

" The blood pudding accident was enough for them to learn their lesson, they won't give you barely again, don't worry. " July sighed. Marnie shook her head.

" I don't trust them..." Marnie said softly. July looked to the side.

" Well, you gotta start. We're a team, and winning could mean do much for everyone of us. " She explained. Marnie looked to July. July looked to the side.

" proceed with the question. " July said. Marnie looked away again.

"How...How did you find me? to know I mean? "Marnie asked. July stared at the tv. " Sam. Sam went on a Holiday, He saw you in Los Angeles. He knew it was the moment he saw you. then he followed you to see where you live. Exhausting as it may have been to go from Los Angeles to that little town of yours...Sam was determined. " July explained. Marnie nodded softly.

" So I guess, I'll have to wait to see Sam's surprise. " Marnie said. July nodded.

" Sam says you'll really like it. "
