Selenas POV
I abruptly woke up to the sound of my dad yelling at me to get out of bed. It wasn’t anything different, it happened almost every day. My dad and I just moved to London, I was originally from Texas. But some things happened and everything changed… My dad couldn’t cope, he couldn’t stand still being in that house.. So here we are, in London. I had to admit, I didn’t really mind coming here. It had always been a dream of mine to travel around the world, and one place on my list to go was London.
Staying in Texas was too depressing, everywhere I went, everyone I saw, it just reminded me of her. I do miss my family and my close friends, but I think it will be good for me to get away from everything for a while and to start fresh.
I looked over at my alarm clock, 5:30 AM. I groaned throwing the blankets off of me, coldness hitting my bare legs.
The cold weather was definitely something I had to get used to. In Texas, it was mainly warm all year long. I had to admit, I really missed the warm weather, but oh well.
I hopped off the bed causing the floor to creak, something I also had to get used to. My dad ended up buying a really old house here, and it happened to be huge. I’ve been here a week and I still get lost occasionally.
The floors creak and there’s always cold drafts coming in through the windows. Sometimes I feel like this place is haunted when i’m alone because all you can hear are small animals in the attic or branches hitting the windows.
I made my way over to the bathroom to take a quick shower. I put on a random pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a blue over-sized hoodie. I threw my hair in a messy bun and didn’t bother to put on any makeup. I wasn’t the type of girl to spend an hour on their hair, makeup, and wardrobe for school. I honestly could care less.
I grabbed my bag from the floor and hopped down the stairs. I threw my bag on one of the kitchen seats and kissed my dad on the cheek.
“Morning dad.” I said making my way over to the fridge to get some orange juice.
“Morning honey, are you excited to go to your new school?” He said not bothering to look up, too busy reading the news paper.
I let out a sarcastic laugh, taking the orange juice out of the fridge. “Yeah, meeting stupid people and meeting stupid teachers and getting loads and loads of homework is something every girl dreams of.”
“Don’t be so negative, you’ve always been good at making friends, and hey. There might be some cute boys.” He said still reading the news paper.
I snickered at his last comment and took a sip of my orange juice. “Yeah, okay dad.” “The bus is going to be here soon, so see you after school. Unless you want to save me from this hell hole and home school me?” I asked with hope in my voice.
“Language missy.” He said shaking his finger at me. “And you’ll be fine, I’ll see you after school.”
“Fine.” I groaned picking up my bag, “Bye dad, love you!” I said making my way over to the front door.
I stepped outside, cold air hitting my face. I made my way down the road to the bus stop and took a seat on a bench.
I tapped my foot against the cement until the bus finally came. I rolled my eyes as I got onto the bus when I heard people screaming and people throwing paper everywhere. Cliché high school bus. I for one was not a morning person, so I could not handle noise in the morning.
I groaned as I made my way to an empty seat in the middle of the bus. I took out my ipod and plugged the earphones into my ears to block out all the noise. I hummed silently to the song “A Team“ by Ed Sheeran who happened to be one of my favorite singers.
