The Demonic Contract Made By Forgetful Father
Jung Hoseok stood infront of the grave of his late father and placed down the bouquet of flowers that he bought at the nearby flower shop. He was never really that close to any of his family members but he couldn't deny the fact that he loved his father more than anyone in the world.
His father died exactly three years ago from a heart attack. The man was eating with them during dinner until a fight had occurred; it was about who was going to inherit the company and some properties. The argument got out of hand that it was too much for him to bear.
Hoseok sighed and turned around. He squinted his eyes in confusion seeing that his father's secretary was standing a few feet away from him. He suddenly remembered that he also turned 18 today. No one had really wanted to celebrate his birthday knowing that his own dad died on the same day.
"Hello, Mr. Kim"
Hoseok greeted. He wasn't really surprised that the man was here knowing that they were really close. It was as if his secretary looked like an illegitimate child; a brother that he wished he had... maybe.
"Seokie! Happy birthday!"
The secretary handed him a baby blue plain paper bag which the other happily took.
Hoseok smiled at how his secretary has been consistent for the past three years. When everyone else had forgotten him, there was one that had always remembered aside from his dad.
He smiled and began to open the bag. His face scrunched up since there was nothing but an envelope inside. He then tore up the envelope to reveal a letter. The familiar handwriting made him so excited. So, it went...
My most beautiful child,
It's your eighteenth birthday today. I want you to enjoy your day as much as you can. I promised myself on the day I found out that your mom was pregnant with you that I would give you the world.
As a gift, when you're 18 and single. You'd have Namjoo as your husband. He's a top tier, s-class demon in your disposal! I want my grandkids to be strong and beautiful!
Love,
Dad
"What the fuck."
Hoseok gasped when he saw the sudden long black horns on top of Namjoon's head. The man that he thought he knew was staring back at him with sad ruby red eyes at him.
"Your father thought you were a girl when he got the news."
"Well he could have just tried to change it!"
Namjoon sighed and rubbed his temples. "That's what I said! But listen, he only said: That's fine. Atleast he's in good hands."
Hoseok clicked his tongue to the side and threw the letter on the ground.
"Is this some kind of joke?!"
Namjoon saddened. He knew that the younger never wanted to be contracted with a demon. If only his father had given him the proper gift or inheritance than maybe Hoseok would have understood and appreciated it more.
"Your family is actually at the office with your father's legal attorney. Your father wanted to disclose the inheritance after your legal birthday."
"So what did they get?"
Hoseok's heart sank when he heard that his family never bothered to greet him as they were in it for their father's money.
"Your older brother got the company and some of the shares while your older sister had all the properties."
"Even the house?!"
Namjoon sighed and nodded. He was ready for the upcoming complaints and cries. This was the last straw of his own family mistreating him all these years, instead he heard something that took him by surprise.
Hoseok fell on the grass holding his stomach as he laughed loudly.
LAUGH
The boy was laughing as if he was out of his mind. The curious high ranking demon crouched down and stared at him weirdly.
"Don't look at me like that..." Hoseok smiled and wiped off a tear from his eyes. He then forcefully grabbed Namjoon by his necktie and looked at him in the eye. "This is great, actually. My father and I knew that those two are greedy and stupid. They can have all his money, but they lack the knowledge of making it grow."
Hoseok stood up and dusted himself off. He grinned grabbed Namjoon's neck forcing him to crouch down as so.
"My father always said that he had connections far greater than man would ever know and how he had helped to build his empire. I thought he was bluffing but I then realized... You two have always been... so close."
Hoseok began to caress Namjoon's face and grinned knowingly.
"The man was straight, and I had no interests of involving with humans like that."
"Until you met me, right?"
"What-"
Hoseok laughed softly. He released the demon only to grab him by the wrist and dragged him from behind.
"We got work to do."
Namjoon was very much confused but he didn't mind the informal treatment he was receiving. When Hoseok's father was alive, neither of them liked any form of physical contact. This warmth was so foreign to him but quite soothing. He thought that things from now on would become quite interesting.
And it did!
Days turned to weeks and to months. Namjoon was surprised and was bewildered of how much Hoseok was putting so much effort in building his own company. The letter that the child received was the push he needed to put his plans into motion.
Hoseok destroyed his family's reputation by anonymously posting their scandals online in numerous platforms. Throughout the years, Hoseok was already buying some of his father's shares even when the old man was still alive. He loved how many people underestimated him and had thought that he was just a naïve boy. What people didn't know was that he was learning the ropes through his father who only made him observe.
His older brother was exposed as an addict with gambling problems that scammed millions of won from thousands of people. He was currently sitting behind bars while his sister was on the run.
His older sister was involved in a sex scandal with politician who was also seen as one of the master minds of the recent case of human trafficking. The two had already fled the country and was forced to sell their assets in which Hoseok bought.
Namjoon hummed in satisfaction and looked up in the sky. The country was in great chaos as everything was just turning upside down. Their family was the big talk of the town and the source of entertainment of some. Hoseok was now under the spotlight as being the youngest to be a business tycoon. News reporters and paparazzi hot on his trails.
"You were right... Your son is so brilliant."
"Ofcourse, I am."
Hoseok grinned and walked up beside him enjoying the skin from the inside of his new office.
"I didn't even have to help you."
Hoseok shook his head and grabbed Namjoon's hand, placing his soft lips unto the other's knuckles.
"But you did... I have always been inspired by you."
Namjoon looked at him dumbfoundingly and asked, "How so?"
"I have always been envious of my father, not my siblings."
He began and started to pull Namjoon closer, snaking his arm around the demon's waist. He smiled when he began to rub his raging erection against the other earning a surprised facial expression.
He then grabbed Namjoon's neck and leaned in to whisper to his ear, "I've always... always... wanted you to look at me in a different way..."
