It had been a couple days since the last interaction with Clay. I saw him a couple times passing the garage, but after finishing up my finals and going on Christmas vacation, I saw him a lot throughout the day taking Bronco out.

I wasn't very much of a outgoing person. I mean, yeah, I had friends, but I was also just very lazy. I never felt like going out, but rather just staying on the couch doing nothing. Though, I got myself into the good habit of always cleaning, which was great for me.

However, one of my closest friends invited me to her sister's debutante.

"Come on!!" She exclaimed through the phone, "you should go! It'll be so much fun! And besides, you never even go out anymore, and Chelsea needs someone besides me to go. After our parents died, it's just been me and her, and I don't want to let her down with just one person." She sighed out through the phone. I could feel the puppy eyes.

I paused for a moment. "I mean... fine... I'll go, but just because I actually like Chelsea... not you." I replied with a giggle.

"YAY!!! Thank you so so much! Remember, a silver, white or black dress!"

"Alright... oh wait! Remind me, when is this thing??"

"Tomorrow night! So, chop chop, better find something quick! Byyeee, love you!"

You have got to be kidding me. I basically had no time to find a dress for this thing.

With that, I practically jumped off the couch and onto my feet, grabbing at my keys before jetting out of the doorway and down the stairs. Clay was out there with his boys, so I made my best efforts to not look over at him.

I ran into my car and sped off. Mind you, by this time it was already 8pm and any store with a decently cute dress was already getting close to closing.

Eventually, I found a cute black dress. It was skin tight, but fell loose on the legs once it couldn't curve around them. The design was simple, but pretty. It was had two thin straps with a common bra like neckline. The left leg had a cut through it, leaving the leg exposed. The whole dress was black, but had a a lace like design all over it. It was a really pretty dress, and I loved the way it looked. I had to buy heels to go with though, it dragged on the floor too much since it was basically made for a tall woman.

When I got home from shopping, I knocked out, greeted in the morning by the sound of my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I answered, my voice grogy and annoyed.

"Girl, get up, I'm taking you to get our nails ready!"

I groaned out loudly, reluctantly getting myself up and ready to go out.

It was a long day of getting ready for this debutante thing, but by the end of it, I looked pretty good.

I stared at myself in the mirror, examining my look. I had my hair half up, half down, the ends curled with a bow holding the hair-tie. My bangs sat up on my face, shorter than usual since I trimmed them that morning. I had gone for a natural but sparkly look on my face, my makeup looking alright.

The dress fit on good. I didn't have anything to eat that whole day, so I expected it to. I wore a nice little silver necklace. It was a heart charm with a diamond in the middle, a family heirloom I received from my mom. I had a couple rings on with a single silver charm bracelet.

My nails were white. They were short and simple, but cute and matched nonetheless.

I wore black heels. Not ones that made me too tall, but ones that allowed the dress to sit comfortably right above the floor so it didn't drag.
