Ash lay in a dark room. Only moonlight was seen through the open window. The slow, chill wind flowed through the window, keeping the room temperature in check. The gentle rustling of the trees swaying in the wind can be heard. Ash's mind wondered with ideas and plans for the future. However, his mind was bogged down by a pinging thought in the back of his mind. Something he wanted to forget. He was living in a different time, and his past shouldn't affect him. He wanted to move on, but he couldn't.
He sighed and rolled towards the window. Looking through, the full moon shines brightly as it stares back at him. 'I wish you were still here.' He thought. Rising his paw towards the sky. He often wonders if the moon was his parents looking back at him. Telling him something he couldn't hear.
He closed his eyes and let his mind take him. Soon, his world would change, and now he was back to simpler times. His parents watched from afar as he frolicked in the grass. His young body breathes the fresh air the world would provide. He laughed and played with the sounds of his parents laughing along with him.
Soon, the sun was setting, and dinner was being served. His father told stories of adventures he used to take when he was a young eevee. Smiling at the story and enjoying his time. Then, it was time for bed. While he was young, his body was exhausted from today's events, and he wanted nothing more but to sleep his worries away. Felt the comfort of bedding that rested nicely under his fur. His mother had come in to tell him a bedtime story. Her beautiful voice transferred him to another world, and his body began to slumber away.
He awoke the next day with excitement. He dashed towards his parents' bedroom. He jumped on the bed and begged his parents to awaken. But he was met with silence.
"Mom? Dad?" His young voice questioned. Pulling the sheets off only to reveal they were gone. There was not even a sign that his parents had slept in their bed. The bed was cold and lacked their smell. He rushed to the kitchen, only to find it empty as well.
Everywhere he looked. There was no sign that his parents ever existed. The last thing he looked at was the front door. With a panicked heartbeat, he rushed towards the door. The door opened easily with a push of his paws. He looked at the calm swaying of the trees as the grass flowed with the find. But his parents weren't out there either.
Before he began to cry, he was brought back to the present. Tears were leaking from his eyes. He looked back towards the moon. But the moon had already moved on. Leaving the sulking Ash in the dark. 'I'll miss you, mom and dad.' He rolled away from the window and shut his eyes one more time.
