Recap:

Suddenly, Aiko's ears shot up in surprise, and he pulls away.

He even looked surprised, and alerted, which was surprising for Jung Hwa himself.

He looked in a certain direction, his eyes locked on something the spy couldn't see, pausing for just a moment.

Jung Hwa looked in the direction Aiko was also looking.

He tried to understand what was making Aiko so suddenly alert.

After another small pause, Aiko tugged on Jung Hwa, pulling him to the nearest hallway almost as fast as he could...

Now:

"What's wrong? What's happening?" Jung Hwa asked himself, as he was being pulled by the prince.

He was surprised to see Aiko so alert and cautious, but he didn't resist his pulling.

Aiko stopped just around a corner, carefully peering past it.

He then sighed a moment after, leaning back on the wall next to Jung Hwa.

"Sorry...I just...heard my father walk in..." He explains finally, sounding a little sad.

Jung Hwa's mind was filling with even more questions than before.

"Aiko's father? What was his father doing here? Is everything okay?" He thought.

He looked at Aiko's emerald eyes, and their hands are still linked.

Aiko took a deep breath to gather himself.

It...felt almost odd to see him with so much emotion in his expressions.

Jung Hwa then spoke up.

"Aiko...are you...okay?" He asked.

He had a slight feeling in his chest that something was not right.

"No--I mean, maybe?" Aiko said, second-guessing himself.

"You heard your father...Do you know what he's doing here? Does he know about your presence here" Jung Hwa asked calmly and quietly.

Aiko sighed.

"He knows I'm here...He has to...There is no other reason for him to be here..." He said quietly, and sort of panicky.

Jung Hwa was a bit confused, but Aiko seemed worried, so the spy decided to ask him more questions in order to understand the current situation better.

"Aiko...are you in danger?" He asked.

"Oh, I will be in the deepest of deep ditches if he finds me here..." Aiko said, panicking a bit more.

Jung Hwa held onto Aiko's hand tighter, in hopes of comforting him.

He felt worried for Aiko, seeing how he was panicking.

"Aiko is important to me, and if he's in danger, I cannot leave him..." He thought.

"Do you need to run?" He asked, whispering.

"I--I don't know...But he knows I'm here...I can't--I can't let him find me..." Aiko replied.

Jung Hwa felt his heart beating faster, as he was not sure of what to do.

His emotions were telling him to help Aiko...to save him.

He wasn't sure what it was...but he felt something special with Aiko; something that was more important than anything else.

He couldn't leave him like this, not when Aiko's safety was at risk.

He turned to him.

"Aiko...Would you come with me?" The spy whispered, still holding onto Aiko's hand.

Aiko turned to Jung Hwa and nodded.

"Alright, we run then. Follow me, and do not make a noise," The spy said as quiet as he could.

With those words, Jung Hwa held onto Aiko's hand securely, and ran towards the nearest exit with him.

Aiko made sure not to trip, as they ran out of the masquerade silently.

Jung Hwa was glad Aiko kept his balance, as he did not want him fall and get hurt, nor to reveal they were escaping from the ball.

Once outside, in the drizzling rain, the spy released his grip on Aiko's hand.

He was calm now, knowing they got out of the masquerade in time.

Aiko looked up at the sky for a moment, before hugging Jung Hwa tightly.

Jung Hwa stayed silent for a moment, as he did not expect Aiko to hug him.

He looked surprised, his cheeks slightly red.

He started to hug Aiko back, feeling him in his arms.

"I'm glad we got out of there..." He whispered, his voice calm and soft.

He held Aiko close to his body.

Aiko took some deep breaths to finally calm himself down.

It wasn't noticeable before, but his hands were shaking, only a little.

Jung Hwa noticed, he hadn't seen Aiko so overwhelmed, or vulnerable before.

This was a new side of the prince he was seeing, and he wasn't sure what to do in the situation.

The spy stayed quiet, and he kept Aiko close to him.

He looked down at the prince, wanting him to forget about the event.

"I'm...sorry about that by the way..." Aiko apologizes quietly.

"Aiko, there is no need to apologize. You did nothing wrong and I'm glad you told me about your father's presence here. I can understand why it might've made you feel uncomfortable, and overwhelmed," Jung Hwa assured.

The spy gave one of Aiko's hands a squeeze to comfort him.

He thought Aiko might need it, since he needed comfort.

"Do not be afraid, you are safe now. Your father cannot hurt you here," He reassured.

Aiko started to hold onto Jung Hwa a little tighter.

Jung could feel how tight the prince was holding onto his body.

He did not want to let go of him now, he wanted to feel him close forever.

He started to think about the kiss they had just a few minutes ago.

He could still imagine the prince's warm lips on his own.

He wanted to kiss the prince again, but he knew he should wait before trying to kiss him again.

Jung Hwa was starting to feel cold, wanting to get to a warmer place.

"Aiko, we should go," He whispered.

Aiko nodded.

"Right," He said.

"Is there a place you want to go to? Any safe place for you?" Jung Hwa asked.

"I...can't think of a safe place at the moment..." The prince replied.

"Do you want to come with me then? I am sure my place than the street. It's not like we can stay out here much longer without getting soaked--" Jung Hwa suggested.

Aiko gave him a nod.

The rain was starting to pour now.

"Speak of the rain," The spy finished.

Jung Hwa kept hold of Aiko's hand, since he did not wish to lose his touch.

"Alright then, hold onto me, and follow," Jung Hwa said, as he started to walk a bit fast in the direction of his place.

Soon enough, they arrived at a small house.

The spy knocked on the door three times, and footsteps could be heard on the other side from someone approaching the door.

There was a moment of silence, besides the rain getting louder.

The door opened, and a woman peered out, her eyes widening...
