CHARLOTTE ASTOR wasn't a girl you'd miss at east land high. her parents held a high status in their small town within los angeles. her mom was a surgeon, her dad worked in construction with the one and only cal jacobs. inevitably, nate and charlotte were childhood best friends, and surprisingly they were still close when charlottes junior year began.

now, nate jacobs had a pretty hard life, but that was invisible to everybody else...right? mostly everyone, except for charlotte. she could easily remember the night nate called her and told her to come outside to his truck. when he finally confessed what was on his fathers computer, char felt sick to her stomach. nate didn't know why her told her, all he knew is that his dad would actually kill him.

he regretted telling her almost immediately after, begging her to never tell anyone. and of course, charlotte never would. as much as she now hated cal, she loved nate...like a brother.

charlotte had always been aware of nate's anger issues, trying to brush them off because when she would bring it up, he'd get even more pissed.

nate's anger seemed to increase when he started dating maddie perez, becoming way too overprotective of her, but that was absolutely hidden from the public eye, even charlottes. when maddie and nate started dating, charlotte and her hit it off, becoming inseparable ever since.

and through maddie, char was introduced to cassie howard.
