THE ALARM on charlottes phone went off at around 7:50, the sound making her want to go into a coma. her head pounded, feeling like it was about to explode. she sat up, running a hand through her hair. char hadn't spoke to nate since the night of the party.
she knew nate would just act like nothing happened, which was good. but the kiss last night only made her realize things about herself, things she wish she didn't know.
char got dressed in a mini skirt and red top before doing her makeup. as she finished her mascara, her eyes drifted to a picture of her, lexi and rue. she sighed, remembering the time the three girls were close like sisters. char knew it was mostly ber fault that they had drifted, when char started doing drugs with rue, lexi was almost forgotten, and charlotte hated herself for it.
a knock at her bedroom door made her snap out of her pity party. "charlotte!" her mom called out. "maddy's here."
char threw her head back, dreading the fact she actually had to go to school. "fuck." she whispered. "alright i'll be right there."
maddy and char had planned to carpool on the first day since like, the first day of summer. so, char grabbed her bag and ran out to the car.
"hey bitch!" maddy rolled down her window.
"hey, mads." charlotte smiled, getting in the passengers seat.
the drive was mostly silent, the only sound being megan the stallion playing loudly through the cars radio.
"where we're you, like at the party? i barley saw you." maddy broke the silence.
"oh, i was high in the bathroom." char laughed, handing maddy her vape.
