After a long day at daycare and having one of the younger kids throw up on her, Mags was done for the day. She settled on the couch and turned on the newest episode of The Bachelorette. She stuffed a piece of salty popcorn in her mouth and was watching the TV intently, when her phone began to ring.
"Ugh, I can't catch a break," Mags looked at the Caller ID and let it ring 3 times.
She contemplated and then after deciding to try and get over him, she hit the red button. Sayonara, Ed. Mads refocused on the screen and the girl -I think her name was Jesse- chose the obviously wrong guy to give the rose to. Mads shook her head, Matt was clearly the better choice. Even she could tell how terrible Chad was. I mean his name was literally Chad. Her phone rang for the second time, and she quickly gave up and picked it up.
"What do you want, Eddy?" She asked into the phone.
"Please don't hang up! You know I wouldn't be calling you unless I needed to. I need to ask a favor," The voice of her ex-boyfriend, Edwin Ruiz told her desperately.
"What's the favor," She was afraid to ask but knew she had too.
"I know we're not on the best terms but I need a place to stay for a little while because money's tight and you were the only person I could think of. I'm sorry, Mags," He anticipated her response worriedly.
"Seriously, Edwin?" She sighed heavily. How could he even ask her that?
"I beg of you please Mads, you know I don't have any family connections anymore," Ed pleaded.
He knew the family card always found a place in her heart, how bad could it be to have him stay at her place for a couple of days? She was always so close to Ed's mom. Before truly thinking she agreed but told him he could only stay for a little while and hung up.
He would be by her house in two hours with all of his bags and would stay in her guest room.

Now it was currently the next day and Ed had gone grocery shopping because her "petite food" was not enough to feed the two of them. She sent him with 40 bucks and told him to be smart. She could only pray with his buffoon ass.
The door bell rang but she wasn't expecting anyone, she just hoped this time it wouldn't be more week-long company. She opened the door for there to be a tan man with an eagle tattoo across his neck and a black buzz cut atop his head.
"Can I help you?" It was more of a statement than a question on her behalf.
"Hey ma, is Eddy here?" The man asked while glimpsing his eyes across her body.
Responding to a question with a question was her favorite strategy, she was already loving this man's company. She should've known that along with Eddy came his friends and trouble.
"No, but he'll be here in an hour or so. You a friend?"
"Ya, you could consider me and him friends," He responded.
"Okay, you can wait in the kitchen until he gets back," Ed would owe her after all that she did for him.
"So, are you like his girlfriend or something?" The man questioned her once taking a seat by her marble island.
"Ex-girlfriend, actually. The name's Maggie Ellis. Why? Does he have a new girlfriend?" Her curiosity sparked.
"I don't think so, but I don't know, he's a pretty private person" He told her, noticing her sudden questions about him. "If you're his ex-girlfriend why is he at your place?"
"You could say I'm helping him out because he's in a bad place, besides it's not really your business."
He chuckled, he liked her sass and confidence. "Okay ma, so you're his savior?"
"I noticed that Eddy wasn't at his place, in fact it was cleared out when I was searching for him. You know, just to check up on him," He mentioned.
"Well that's Eddy, always doing stupid things with his money. That's literally why I'm stuck with him here." She rolled her eyes, she was way too used to it.
Just as she was finished telling him about the whole situation the door cracked open and Eddy came waddling in with lots of grocery bags.
The eagle tatted man hollered, "Hey Eddy, I was just talking with your savior about you," as Ed's face turned a very pale shade of white.
