10 (Keelin's POV)

I woke up this morning feeling uneasy.

After the events of last night, I needed a smooth sailing day-one where the most difficult thing I had to do was decide what movie to watch.

I walk downstairs to my kitchen, Kiki following right behind me. She got a little impatient having to wait for me to get down the stairs. She kept nudging me with her nose due to my slower-than-normal pace.

Even if the shoes I wore last night were more comfortable than what I would typically wear my knee does not feel like they were comfortable enough.

Before making breakfast for myself, I let Kiki outside into the backyard and turn on some music.

I walk into my semi-updated kitchen noting the room's need for a new coat of paint.

I take the eggs out of the fridge and turn on the stove, placing the pan on top. The song ends and before the next one begins I hear my phone ring. I quickly turn off my music and answer.

"Keelin finally. I've called you five times," Myles's urgent voice said immediately.

"Is something wrong, Myles?" I question while trying not to burn my omelet.

"You could say that. Just meet me at the Mikals Sports Management building as soon as you can." Myles says before hanging up.

The Mikals Sports Management building? That isn't even in the same company as Myles's agency.

A surprise urgent phone call interrupting my breakfast really wasn't what I needed.

-------1 hour later---------

I'm walking into Kirsten Danvers's office. The door closes behind me and even though almost the entire room is made of glass I feel trapped. Four pairs of eyes are watching me as I make my way further in.

When I make eye contact with Elijah my confusion rises. Why would he be here?

Myles waves me over to sit next to him. I distract myself on the way to the couch by looking at the office. It's an interesting one, to say the least. The furniture looks harsh, the color scheme is dark, and it's missing any sort of artwork.

The glass wall looking out onto the city is a breathtaking view. However it seems this meeting is about something serious, so I won't get much time to admire it.

I reach the couch and sit down, it's stiff and charcoal grey. My attention shifts from the uncomfortable furniture to Elijah. Who is across from me picking at his fingers. My eyes are drawn away from his fidgeting hands when Kirsten stops pacing and stands in front of the oddly designed furniture in her office.

She is the only person standing in the room. Myles is of course sitting to my right and a man I do not recognize is sitting next to Elijah.

Kirsten addresses us with a pointed glare switching between Elijah and me, "I am sure you have heard of the rumor involving the both of you."

I feel like I am the only person in the room who has no idea what is going on. I scan everyone's faces; no one else seems confused.

"I'm sorry. Am I supposed to know what you are talking about?" I ask, Kirsten just gives me a look.

I turn towards Myles for an explanation but the man next to Elijah jumps in, "Haven't you seen the articles, Honey?"

He takes my silence as an answer and continues, "Those reporters from last night, spun this whole elaborate story- all over websites and newspapers- claiming that the two of you...", he gestures at Elijah and then me, "...are engaged".
