The days repeat. Waking up, seeing Lilith for a few minutes as she drops off food, learning magic, and sleeping. Maxine often visits the library and grabs a book or more. The quiet library soothed her, rarely anyone would go to the library, and it was like an escape from the busy castle.

Maxine walks to her room with a few books in her hands. She's done it so many times that she could walk to her room with her eyes closed. She reaches her hand out and opens the door then shuts it behind her. She looks up off the ground and sees a random blonde-haired boy looking at her.

"Who are you, what are you doing here!?" Maxine jumps back in shock.

"What are you doing here?" The boy who looked about the same age as Maxine asked rudely.

"This is my room! Why are you in here?"

"It's not your room, it's mine!"

"But I've been here for years," Maxine argued. She drops her books on a small table next to her then stomps toward the boy.

"It's too bad! You shouldn't treat the Emperor's nephew this way," he said as he stood up in her face. Maxine looked dead into his unusual magenta eyes, wanting to intimidate him. Lilith bursts into the room, interrupting the scene.

Maxine turns around fast and looks at Lilith, "Get him out of here!" She pushes the boy out of her face.

"Is this where you were told to stay?" Lilith asked calmly to the boy.

"Yes, I was," he responded in the same tone.

Lilith tiredly sighs, she would fall asleep right there if she could. "You're probably just sharing a room, there's two beds anyway, so settle down." She glares at the both of them before walking out of the room.

They both sit in awkward silence on different beds. Maxine looks up at the boy across the room, "Maybe... We should tell each other our names?" She paused again then continued with a smile, "I'm Maxine Wixx." The blonde-haired boy still refuses to talk and looks away, ignoring her presence. She crosses her arms and raises her voice, "I'm sorry, alright!? Did you want to hear an apology?"

"Fine! I'm Hunter, and you didn't have to raise your voice at me," he finally admits. "And... I'm guessing you like books," he said quietly while looking at the books on the table.

"Oh yeah, I read a lot, ever since I taught myself how to read," she giggles at herself.

"What's your favorite thing to read about?" Hunter perks up.

"I usually just read books that teach magic, but other than that, I like reading about nature since I haven't been outside in a long time," she answers.

"I read about nature too!" He commented. Maxine picks up her books and walks to the other bed then hands one to Hunter. He opened the book right away as Maxine started reading her book.

"Hey Hunter, do you want to come learn some magic with me? You never even bother to at least hang out in the other room," Maxine asked before heading out, "I mean if you haven't learned anything, all you have to do is ask me to learn a few skills."

"I don't go because I can't do anything there..! I don't have magic, and many of my ancestors didn't have it either," Hunter responded.

Maxine feels a flash of sympathy for him and moves her hand away from the door. "Oh my Titan, I didn't know that... I'll just go now," she sighed.

"No, wait! I'll go, I can figure out something!" Hunter confidently said as he stood. She smiles happily and leads him to the empty room. They walked through the busy castle without saying a word. Surprisingly, it was more quiet than usual, quiet enough to figure out the conversations scouts were having. Maxine opens the door to the large empty room and walks in like it's home.
