Shortly after the prom and final exams, the eagerly anticipated letters from universities began making their way to their owners. 

Today, both Nic and I received our letters from the university we had set our sights on.

Our common aspiration was to secure admission to Oxford University, each harbouring distinct academic ambitions. Nic aimed to delve into business studies, while my passion lay in trichology and cosmetology. Our shared dream was not just about personal fulfilment; it was a commitment to continue the legacies of our parents, nurturing and expanding their enterprises.

The prospect of attending Oxford together had been meticulously arranged, and everything was poised for our relocation to England for the coming years. 

The fate of these aspirations lay sealed within the contents of the letters. 

Overwhelmed with a mix of anticipation and trepidation, I confided in my parents, who had been steadfastly by my side throughout this journey. 

"I am scared."- I admitted vulnerably, clutching the letter tightly.

"You are the most brilliant girl, piccola. You have worked so hard to achieve this goal. We are certain that you got in."- mamma spoke with unwavering belief, and I found solace in their comforting embrace, the letter held firmly in my hands.

"Mia piccola farfalla, you are so talented and smart. They would be stupid to turn you down. You are incredible, and any university would be the luckiest to have you."-  papà stated with a confidence that made me smile softly.

I took a deep breath and opened the letter, reading attentively, overwhelmed with nervousness and excitement. 

"Dear Martina Selene Russo,

We are delighted to extend to you an offer of admission to Oxford University for the Trichology and Cosmetology programmes.
