After what seemed like hours of glares from the table of employees. My eyes landed on the Malfoy's.  Narcissa and Lucius, along with their twin children Draco and Katherine Malfoy. I grew up with them but hardly saw them. I was always in the training room. I was used as the dummy for the employees to test their hexes and combinations on. Then when my father returned he was the only one allowed to test his wand work on me.

The employees seemed to have never asked for my name. Thinking I was Peter's daughter. He was my guardian. He explained to me when my father came back that he was to raise me and help make my dads employees stronger. Hence the curses. I wasn't allowed to leave the manor which I mentioned before. I was stuck here for the training. For me it was more body conditioning than training. I would have to deal with the torture while the employees would be completely fine.

I do not have a wand of my own unfortunately. So I had to teach myself to use magic without a wand. From the age of 10 I had mastered the art of wand-less magic. Narcissa knew but I begged her to keep it a secret. Which she has. I act like I can't do magic around my father, that way the torture sessions are less harsh. However he thinks I'm a squib which makes him angrier. Then Lucius reminds him of me not owning a wand. The same old story for the last 2 months since his return.

I was still looking at the Malfoy's when my gaze focused on the twins. I always preferred Katherine over Draco. She was sweet unlike Draco. She told me a funny story once where a teacher had turned Draco into a Ferret so now when I see him I make sure to call him a Ferret. Lucius was whispering to Draco about something, I couldn't hear him but that was because my father was still stood directly behind me. All I could hear was his deep breaths. Narcissa shared a glare with her sister Bellatrix. She was the woman who called me a mud-blood.

My father drew in a quick breath so I knew he was about to speak. "Draco, Katherine, you two can help my daughter pack her things for the departure tomorrow" he demanded.

He let go off my shoulders and gently pushed my towards to slick black double doors. The twins and I ascended up the stairs and towards my bedroom in the furthest hallway. Draco walked in and made himself comfortable on my bed whilst Katherine went over to the wardrobe with a list of items to pack. I rested against the door frame and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Luce, are you okay?" Katherine asked sweetly. I looked at her nodding. She smiled and continued packing as I looked at Draco.

"Get off my bed Ferret boy, those sheets were washed this morning" I scoffed. He sat up and looked at me offended. "Shouldn't you be helping Katherine?" I added.

This time he scoffed and stood up. "What? Too stupid to figure out what to do yourself?" He sneered.

I chuckled grabbing his ear lobe tightly as and pushing him to the floor beside Katherine. "Do as you've been told." I let go of his ear and helped Katherine stand. "You've done enough work, he can finish the rest" I chuckled.

Katherine and I sat on my bed together, glancing at Draco every now and then. Realising that my things were being packed I looked at Katherine. "Where am I going? I'm never allowed to leave this place"

"I'm pretty sure your father is letting you come to Hogwarts with us this year" she smiled. I furrowed my eyebrows in suspicion.

"There's no way he's not getting anything out of this...he hasn't let me leave this place in 15 years. All of a sudden I'm allowed to go to school? Something doesn't seem right" I pondered. Draco finished packing and joined us on the bed.

"Maybe he wants you to get out of here? He hasn't given you an ounce of respect your entire life." Katherine started. "Maybe he wants you to leave.."

Draco scoffed, "there's no way that's the reason, maybe he wants to train her up to become like the rest of us"

"What do you mean 'train me up'? Haven't I done enough in that fucking training room?"
I snapped at him. He held his hands up in surrender.

"Well why don't you ask him when we go downstairs? Everyone else should be gone by now anyway" Katherine smiled at me. I nodded and stood up with her and Draco.

"You might wanna try smiling for once luce, you look like you've never seen the light of day" Draco snickered. I fake laughed and pushed him into the banister along the hallway. He groaned in pain as Katherine and I made our way down the stairs trying not to laugh.

After we descended down the stairs, the twins and I walked in on our parents having a rather cooled conversation. The twins walked over to their parents as they were leaving and I walked over to my father.

"Are you packed now?" He asked. I responded with a quick nod. He nodded back and took a seat, gesturing for me to do the same. I took a seat opposite him keeping some distance between us.

"When will I be leaving?" I asked. He held up his hand to signal me to stop. I looked at him silently as he began to speak.

"You will be leaving with the Malfoy's tomorrow afternoon" he started, "however you are probably wondering why I am allowing you to leave the manor" he looked at me as I nodded. "Well, I figured that I need to know once and for all of you're a squib or not" he sneered at me. "So you will be given your wand whilst in Hogsmeade, if you don't learn and produce basic magic by Christmas you will not be allowed to return there" he stated.

I nodded at him wearily. "What if I am a witch?...and I'm able to produce powerful magic?" I asked. His eyes twinkled slightly.

"Well if you truly are my daughter, you will be very powerful. You will be allowed to return to Hogwarts and do some work for me, joining the business" he smiled.

I smiled back at him and nodded. His gaze hardened again. I stopped smiling and looked at him, listening intently.

"There are more things to discuss with you about your trip tomorrow. Firstly you cannot let anyone see your family mark" he stated. I lifted my left sleeve showing the family mark. A skull with a snake coming out of its mouth. "Although it means a lot to our family, you cannot let anyone see it!" He yelled.

I nodded quickly covering the family mark. I looked back at him worrying about what else needed to be done. "Are there any more rules father?" I asked. He immediately nodded and grabbed ahold of my arm. I tried to pull back but his grip tightened making me wince sharply.

"You need to think of a new name. If you prance around that place shouting your name is Luciana riddle, you'll immediately be shunned" he demanded. I looked at him incredulously.

"Why would I be shunned for my last name? And please- let go of my arm" I winced. He loosened his grip and looked down at me.

"Many people in this world don't like me. They think I am a mean man. They accuse me of things I would never do....like murder" he mockingly said. I furrowed my eyebrows, standing up finding a small wave of confidence.

"You are a mean man" I managed to pull my arm out of his grip. "My entire life has been spent in that training room with curses and hexes being thrown at me from the age of three!" I added. He stood up from his chair looking down at me, towering over me. "How good of a man could you be to let your own daughter go through that torment and abuse her entire life at the hands of strangers" I finished tearing up slightly.

My father looked furious but I didn't care. I wanted him to see me. I want him to see how much pain he has caused me.

"You will change your last name to keep people off your back." He demanded. "You will keep your mark hidden, and you will learn magic" he added, "do I make myself clear?"

I let out a frustrated breath and turned on my heel, walking away from him and ascending up the stairs to my bedroom. I heard my father yell my name but I didn't turn back. I slammed my bedroom door using wand-less magic. The slam echoed around the entire house.

I heard a faint pop of apparition and knew someone had come over. This employee was always late to the board meetings. He'd arrive late at night and leave early in the morning. I thought nothing of it and decided to get into bed still frustrated with my father.

I can't wait to leave tomorrow.
