Aven woke up the next morning with a splitting headache. Flashes from the night before still fresh in her mind. She tried to push it down, but the more she tried the more it kept coming back at her. Slowly she got out of her bed, and started getting ready for school. A knock on her door pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Come in." She said softly.
"Hey Aves, I wanted to ask if you needed to take a shower, or do anything in the bathroom, before I go?" Cole asked the girl.
"Yeah, sure just let me brush my teeth really fast. Thanks Cole." She said with a small smile.
Cole knew something had happened between the two Howard girls last night, but he also didn't want to push the girl, and make her tell him. So instead of pushing her, he wanted to be patient with her.
She soon got done in the bathroom, and let Cole go in. On her way back to her room, a certain Garcia boy stopped her.
"Morning Sleeping Beauty." Isaac said to the girl.
Aven couldn't help but smile. The girls mood seeming to lighten up a bit. He knew the girl had been struggling, and he wanted to help her. Whatever had happened between the two girls, had made the girl completely different, and it worried everyone around her, except for Jackie it seemed.
"Morning." she said as she headed into her room to get ready for the day.
Completely unaware of what had happened between Jackie, and the boys, Aven headed downstairs, and sat down at the bar. She was enjoying a juicy apple, when she heard laughing coming down the hallway. She looked up from her phone, and saw Isaac and Lee.
"Hey Sunshine." Lee said to the girl.
"Hey skater boy." She replied with a mouthful, as she had just taken a bite out of her apple.
Isaac had started getting his lunch ready, when everyone else had started coming back downstairs. Soon everyone had gotten everything that they needed, and were headed out the door.
It was only then when everyone was getting in the truck, that Aven had noticed Jackie wearing one of George's hats. She was confused to say the least, but she didn't question it. She didn't really want to approach Jackie right now, after what had happened the previous night.
Everyone could tell that there was a big distance between the girls, and Cole especially hated it. He hated any drama between the entire family, but he hated this because it was between his best friend, and the girl he had started to develop feelings for.
Finally they were headed to school not ready at all for the long day ahead.
She looked down at her schedule again to see what class she had in first period, and Aven wanted to cry when she saw what it was. Isaac seemed to take notice a change in the girls mood, and decided He was going to try and lighten it up a little bit.
"Hey Aven, I got an idea." He whispered in her ear.
It sent shivers down her neck, and she tried to hide it. She turned to look up at him, and took notice at how close they were. Her breath hitched in her throat, when they locked eyes.
She cleared her throat.
"I'm all ears Isaac. Whatcha got?" She played it off.
"You and I both know, that we have a very strong hate for algebra, and I saw the look on your face when you looked at your schedule, so why don't we ditch? Besides, I have something I've been wanting to show you anyways." He whispered.
Aven looked around to make sure no one else had heard their conversation, when she noticed that no one else was paying attention, she looked at Isaac with a questioning look.
