PART 1
Will and Ash McKenzie had gone broke. Who would have thought they would have ended up in a public school? Ew.
At least, that's what my moron brother was most likely internally monologuing as he lugged an entire briefcase into Rudge Park Comprehensive. I could not believe it when he pulled that piece of shit from under his bed, despite me yelling that he was gonna get relentlessly bullied. One thing you'll notice, is that while I'm trying to fit in at public school, my wanker of a brother still thinks it's going to be similar to private.
Climbing out of the car, not waiting for Will, I waved at Mum before speed walking off towards the office, so I could hopefully get to my new form room before Will could catch up.
"ASH! WAIT FOR ME YOU PRICK!"
I walked faster, already seeing people stare at Will's stupid ass briefcase. No way that cunt was going to be associated with me in any way, shape or form. At least not on the first day.
Don't get me wrong, I love my brother. He's my built-in best friend and we do pretty much everything together, but being seen with him on the first day? Social suicide. The boy has no idea how to handle himself in social settings, and he's gonna have to learn the hard way. He's not trailing around after me again, he can find his own friends.
..
"Right then McKenzies, here are your badges. You're in my form, so head down to this room and I'll follow you there in a minute." Mr Gilbert said, handing us badges.
Both of us put the badges on after some debate, but mine came off the second we stepped out of that office. Will didn't notice I took it off, and left his on, and I speed walked towards our form room, hoping to lose him on the way.
"Ash. Why do you keep running away from meee!!" Will grumbled, running to catch up with me.
"Look. You're an amazing brother, but being associated with the posh private school prick with a briefcase on the first day of being here is social suicide. God knows why you thought a BRIEFCASE was a good idea to bring to a public school, but you're gonna be called a briefcase wanker or something like that." I replied, trying not to hurt Will's feelings. Guaranteed he was going to take that personally, but then at least maybe he'd avoid me.
"Oh piss off Ash! As if they're not going to think you're weird too with your stupid eyeliner and weird hair! We may as well stick together it's not like anyone's going to want to talk to either of us?" Will pleaded me to stay with him, but I've made my mind up.
"Will. I need other friends and so do you. We see enough of each other already, we take most of the same subjects and I literally live with you, so please, just for today back off yeah? You need to at least try to make friends with other people. If you can't find friends you can stick with me from tomorrow, I pinky promise, but please Will, just try for today." He knows I don't break my promises.
"Fine. But you're walking in first seeing as you're so desperate to speed walk away from me." Will grinned evilly at me, before slowing right down and letting me speed off.
"That's what I wanted anyway-" I mumbled, turning the corner in the corridor and finding my form room.
..
Walking into form 6B, and after a quick evaluation of the people in my form room I walked over to the one person who looks the least like a prick. It was a boy sat by himself, and I was desperately hoping that he wasn't waiting for a friend.
"Hi, anyone sit here?" I asked, trying to appear as friendly as possible.
"Oh, um, hi. No, you can take the chair if you want." he replied, thinking I was going to take the chair and sit somewhere else. To his surprise, I swung my backpack under the desk and plonked myself into the chair.
