Having to move out is probably the thing that I hate the most

Having to move out is probably the thing that I hate the most. Packing things, having to get rid of some things, because "we can't take everything", according to my parents of course.

When I was a kid, I had to move out a lot, but it was always nearby, but now, I literally have to cross a whole ocean. I've already done it one time, but it was almost sixteen years ago, so I don't really remember anything. But now I have all my family, friends, and life in here, so it really hurts having to leave.

"Chiara, hurry up, we have to leave to the airport in about ten minutes! Have you packed everything?" my mom shouts from the living room. Even though we live in Italy and my dad is Italian, my mom is from Boston and she still doesn't dominate Italian after all these years, so we talk in English with her.

"I'm coming down, wait a second!" I take all my suitcases with me downstairs to meet with my mom, my dad and my brother, Noah.

"About time, we were gonna leave you here if you didn't come quick" my brother jokes. I punch him softly in the arm. "Ha, ha, you're so funny" I say sarcastically. "I'm just saying" he raises his shoulders.

Almost a life later we arrive to the airport in Boston. And thank god, because I couldn't stay on that plane for one second more even if I wanted to, which I don't. The worst flight ever. I had my brother by my side, who wouldn't shut up, so I couldn't sleep. And behind me I had a baby crying the whole eight hours. Not even the earplugs could help.

"Chiara, here's your suitcases, go with your dad to the car over there, I'll be there with your brother in a second," my mother says before turning around to talk to my brother. I walk over my dad is and he puts the suitcases in the trunk.

"Did we really need to move here? I have all my life at home. My friends, my family,..." I say sadly. Some people may think that I should be excited to have this opportunity, but I don't see why I should be.

"But you have your mother's family here though. That's also a reason why we came to Boston," my dad cuts me. He tries to give me reasons about why should I be happy ever since we got the news. "And I'm pretty sure you are going to make friends easily, so don't worry," he finishes.

"I know I have family here too, but I don't even know them," I say. My dad opens his mouth to say something, but I cut him. "And no, just because we lived here the first three years of my life, doesn't mean I know 'em. I barely even remember about this place," I continue before my dad gets the chance to talk.

"And about the friends part, I know I'm gonna make friends at some point, but it's not the same as it was in Italy. I had my whole life there" I finish, and my dad closes his mouth, making me understand that he has nothing else to say.

I get in the backseat of the car when my mom and Noah arrive with the suitcases that are left and my dad starts to drive to the house.

"Is it a long drive? To arrive to the house I mean" my brother asks before resting his head on the palm of his hand.

"Actually no, you can get a sleep if you want to, but I don't think it's worth it," my mom says.

Approximately twenty minutes later we park our car just in front of the door, so we get out of the car to get our things into the house. While I'm opening the house door, I see my mom happily texting someone on her phone. I get that she is happy about this, now she gets to see her whole family whenever she wants, so I can't blame her.

As I enter the house, I can see that it already has all the furniture and decorations needed, even family photos or with friends. I guess someone from my mom's family did it.

We finish entering everything in the house and I go upstairs to my room to unpack everything. It's a really nice bedroom and it has views to the driveway, which I'm not sure I totally like, because someone can see me from outside, so I guess I'll just have to close the curtains. Besides that, it has everything necessary, a bed, a desk, a closet and I have my own bathroom.

I text my best friend from home, who told me before I left to text her when I arrived.
