But historical museums
They can be very different.
Handling items that dead people touched.
Sometimes as I stroll through the dwelling,
I can't help but think
A Shaker probably walked this path.
Learning songs,
Analyzing songs,
You hear as you stroll,
"Come life Shaker life,
come life, eternal,
shake shake shake out of me all that is carnal."
I continue the to the next verse in my head
I carefully pick up,
the Oval Box.

The details and craftsmanship:
The swallowtails,
The importance of curing the right piece of wood,
The time and effort that goes into its existence.
The community of Shakers,
Lived,
Farmed,
Built,
Conceptualized
Oval boxes are one of the most iconic shaker items,
Chairs that would seat an angel,
Hooks that showcased their dedication to Holy Mother Wisdom.
Museum work is great,
Sometimes,
It feels like home.
