Mallory Bai, the boy always so absent, so far gone in and to the world. a child that was never supposed to be born.
what exactly is Mallory's fated life?
Mallory's life isn't different from the normal person. he can('t) process the world as it passes. he can('t) see the way people interact with him. his world (is)n't progressing like a dream. everything is('t) exactly as it's progressed and presented.
except . . his life is the opposite.
Mallory cannot see the world as it passes. he does not see when people interact with him in any way. they're still there, but doing something completely unrelated to himself, even if in close range; in his eyes, in his mind, in his world. Mallory does not exist in this world, he's like a ghost. he is nothing. the world moves in stillness past him. his life sometimes moves like a slideshow. it's the life he and his brain has grown accustomed to. in response, he is nothing in return. all his brain craves is release (self-inflicted death).
in other people's eyes, though, he is always . . daydreaming, for lack of better words. he's almost always dozed off. he cannot communicate. unless you try to be really smart about it and break the system somehow, you can barely fucking do it. it's impossible. in a way, he is a soulless shell.
Mallory's parents are aware of this, but not really Eurybia, Mallory's older sister. she definitely knows something is wrong with him, however. hence, she is very protective and cautious of him, keeping tabs / eyes on him whenever she can, without being too much. she only really checks up on him at their home, since she can't anytime else. she's pretty much the reason why he isn't an unhealthy fuck (Mallory's parents do not really wish to acknowledge Mallory - which is very, very deliberate). yet, for some reason, most people don't seem too concerned for Mallory's strange behaviour.
what Mallory can see, however, is things nobody else can see in return. oh? beings are trying to communicate with him now, are they? a person with wings? a horned humanoid? nobody human, that's for sure. random instances will there be inhuman beings roaming around his proximity, watching him intently - even trying to get his attention, speak to him, warn him. however, Mallory never pays any attention to them. complete detachment. Mallory would have long succumbed to death had it not been for them.
basically, Mallory cannot see the world as it is, and in return, sees few and infrequent things that nobody else can (they were never always around).
honestly if i were in Mallory's position i would be very self-inflicted willing deathing myself because what a miserable way to live. x"). i didn't do this to the fellow i swear
