Relief, this is what Malini felt after looking at the happy face of the family members at the dining table. All tiredness from the last night left her body. Well, last night was strange. As she moved towards her room after breakfast, memories of last night flashed in front of her. All rituals were completed last night. But the problem was Aditiya's strange behavior. He looked frustrated last night. They haven't talked after the wedding. He was already sleeping when Malini entered his room last night. Maybe he was tired. But she was not feeling good. She was sad. It was her first day at her new home, and the person she loved the most has not even talked to her yet. She was hurt.
"Imlie, what are you doing here? Don't you have your college today?" She asked Imlie on her way to her room. Imlie came with Aditiya from Pagdangiya five months back when he went their to interview a real gangster. Imlie first met Malini with stars in her eyes. Malini could not ignore her passion and ambition and ended up enrolling her in the college where she teaches.
''It was your wedding yesterday, and a lot of work was left, so I decided to stay at home and help you all." Imlie answered while looking down. She did not have the courage to look at Malini because of the guilt of hiding truth from her. A truth that has the power to flip three lives forever. A truth, if opened, will crumble her heart like a used paper. Malini is a very sweet woman. She doesn't deserve all these lies and betrayal. But she can not do anything if Aditiya does not want to reveal their secret marriage that happened in Pagdangiya. She hates lying to Malini, but she has no option. After all, she is living in Aditiya's home. She is in debt of him for saving her life.
"You don't have to do all these things. Your semestral exams are at the corner. You should go and study." Malini spoke in a manner that is only reserved for her students. She does not want to scold Imlie, but this girl leaves her with no option.
"OK." Imlie spoke regretfully. Here she was lying to her, cheating on her, and this woman was worried about her exams, her future. Imlie once again felt guilty. And this time, the intensity was tenfold more than before. She looked at the retreating figure of Malini with silent tears in her eyes. 'I am sorry.' She thought sorrowfully. Will she ever be able to tell her the truth? She didn't know. Even imagining that senerio happening in the future brings chills down her spine. She did not know what would happen once the truth is out. Honestly, she does not even want to know. She is too afraid to even imagine the consequences of that.
