me and Andy walked into Hebrew school with our fingers interlocked. he was taking us to the make out closet. my heart started pounding. we walked into the small space. he thumb brushed my lip sending shivers down my spine.

"av your the prettiest girl in the school, yk that right?" he asked. wow. how can you even respond to that. "uh, i- i don't know." i said while smiling.
he laughed a little. "well you are ok?"
"ok then." i said dragging out then.

he cupped my cheek with one hand while the other found its way to my waist, pulling me closer i wrapped hands around his neck. he put his lips onto mine, as we were both moving our mouths in sync.

the kiss was passionate, like he had been waiting to kiss me for a long time. after i while we pulled away. i checked the time on my phone seeing class has already started. "oh shit." i curse. "what- whats wrong av." Andy says, a hint of worry in his voice.

"class already started, and now we have to walk in late. together." i said as if it was obvious. his face scrunched up in confusion. "whats wrong with that."
"nothing it doesn't matter." even know i knew people were gonna talk. they always did.

he interlocked our hands and led me out the closet. and into class. he opened the door , rabbi Rebecca and cantor jerry both stopped playing there music.
"sorry were late, av had to go to medical, she has a headache."

rabbi Rebecca didn't look too impressed. "ok, ok go sit down you to." our hands were still interlocked as we made our way into the designated seats. kym sending me a wink as we walked past. i sent her a 'shh' in return.

there song was making my 'headache' even worse. so i asked to go back to medical. knowing i was only gonna walk around the halls.  "yes Ava." rabbi Rebecca sung. "can i go to medical my heads hurting." with my hands on my head.
"yes you can." she was still singing.

i got out my seat and started walking to god knows where. i walked all the way down to junior Hebrew school. (i have no idea whats its called). when i saw mateo. with all the kids calling him mr mateo, which made me laugh a little.

"hey Ava." he said.
"cant believe your not even jewish and you come to the temple more that i do." i said to him, smiling.
"yeah i go to church every Sunday, might as-well fill in the other six days for some, you know, holiness too. i'm actually going to help these guys make challah."

"challah!" all the little kids screamed at him. making me laugh a-bit more.
"okay, okay! challah, challah. thats what i said. i'm waiting here for mrs lip man to unlock the kitchen. she taking forever." i looked down to
see a little boy holding onto the door frame.

i recognised him. it was my little cousin, who i havnt seen since he was a baby. "kaiden is that you." his eyes pricked up after hearing his name. "its me Ava, your big cousin. you probably don't remember me, the last time i saw you. you were only a baby." he gave me a short smile, and i gestured for him to give me a hug.

"tell you mum you saw me ok?" i whispered in his ear. he nodded with a smile. my focus went back to matoe, when thoughts of mrs lip-man flooded my mind. "i remember when i had mrs lip-man, six years old, not a care in the world." i chuckled at the memory.

"i got cares." a little girl said. "my mum says, if i don't learn the candle blessings, i cant play call of duty anymore!"
"oh thats heavy." mateo said.
"or maybe mr mateo will teach you. he probably knows it by now." i say leaning down to her.

mateo started singing the candle blessings, when mrs Lipman finally showed up. all the kids rushed inside, i sent kaiden a small wave, as he ran inside with the other kids.
"by mateo." he smiled back at me.
