Prologue

01 April 2022_ Friday Night

War POV:

"Can I buy you a drink?"

I looked up.

He was easy on the eyes. He was looking good, he dressed up nicely.

Usually, I'd accept his offer in a heartbeat.

Not today.

His confidence was off the charts. He was pretty sure of himself. I thought it would be great to wipe that smirk off from his face. He was no different than the other jerks I've met, surely.

"No thank you."

"Come on, it's just one drink. What harm could it do?"

I slammed my beer glass on the table.

"A lot.

I Don't Want Your Drink. Leave me alone."

I emphasized every word.

His face fell. I was glad.

"I'm sorry to bother you. Good night."

I sighed.

Not only I had an awful day, was I now turning down eligible guys?

I'm War.

I was born on Valentine's Day and I never had a lover on my birthday.

Or... any day.

I was always working hard in school. I wanted to be a doctor. Now, I'm a general practitoner.

Life is easier, money is better, people are older, and I am a loner.

I've dated here and there but nothing worked.

I decided to be bad for once when I started to drink profusely.

It wasn't working because next thing I know I was walking to my apartment above the bar.

I opened the door and laid down in ny bed without even bother to take my clothes off.

I closed my eyes and quickly drifted to the sleep.

Yin POV:

I was quite dissappointed tonight.

I had been eyeing on this beautiful guy for two weeks.

He was coming to this bar almost every day. He was always drinking two bottle of beers and one jager shot.

He was usually chatting with the bartender. Other times, he came with his friends and stayed longer.

Tonight, I finally made a move but he wasn't into it.

He left after our encounter and few more drinks, but then he came back an hour later with a girl in his arms.

Now, I was watching them closely. Clearly he was flirting with her. They were dancing quite happily and they were really close.

I had felt sudden tightness in my chest.

I ordered two more shots. I wasn't turnin my gaze from them.

Well... nobody was.

They completely gathered all the attention with their dancing skills and their beauty.

He twirled her one more time and when he caught her, he kissed her lips.

I closed my eyes.

I didn't need to stay anymore. He already found a partner.

I was going to be alone tonight after all.

Just as I was going to leave, I noticed something.

Something I never wanted to see around him.

I was going to stick around more. Even if he likes it or not.
