Chapter 9

-AFTER SCHOOL-

I headed to the locker room and I see Brady on the way there and he looks upset about something. I walk through the doors get changed and head to the field.

After practice me and Opal go to my house to get ready for the game. "You nervous?" I heard Opal say from my bathroom "why would I be nervous?" "Well you know... now that you're dating or whatever you are with Kaden?" "Nope and i don't know what we are there isn't a label" "oh ok" we finish getting ready I was wearing Kadens away jersey and my hockey jacket cause it's cold tonight with my black leggings and my converse.

Opal starts driving to the school and it was a quiet drive which wasn't like Opal at all "pull over" "w-w-what?" "Pull over" "ok..." Opal pulls over to the side of the road "what's the issue?" "I heard something..." "about what?" "Kaden was talking to the guys at the lunch table when you, zach and Connor went to get lunch together... he said he just wanted to fuck after the dance and then leave you... I didn't want to tell you but I just couldn't let that happen. Brady yelled at him and they aren't talking right now..."

"WHAT!"

I'm starting to get confused and frustrated. Did he actually say that? Did Brady stick up for me? Why would he do that? "Let's just go to the game..." I didn't want to believe it. Opal hasn't said a word since and we arrived at the school field.

I see him. He makes my blood boil how can he go from hating me for years and calling me names to defending me when it's not his place to do that. He's so frustrating. The game starts and zach makes a goal "YESSS ZACH!!" Everyone around me is cheering and I look down at him and he's staring at me. He looks worried. I mouth "I'm fine. Good job" he nods

-END OF GAME-

We won 2-1 it was a good game. Brady got the second goal and he was so excited. As I was walking out the see zach like I normally do Kaden came up to me "Hey princess did you like the game?" I hesitated "uh yeah it was a good one" I can't tell by everyone's face around me they can see I'm upset "I think the team is coming to your house tonight... wanna hangout?" "Maybe I'm gonna say hi to zach" I walk away from him before he could say anything else to me. "CASS DID YOU SEE ME!!!" I laughed a little and he noticed my face "good job zach, I'm very proud of you" "you know that mom and dad are gone so I'm having a party tonight you okay with that?" "Yeah I need to clear my mind anyways" he sighed "good so I have to stay late with Kaden and Connor here to pick up the equipment-" "Opal can't take me home so I'll wait." "I'm gonna be at least an hour or more I don't want you sitting in my car cold." "I'll-" "Hey Brady" Brady turns towards him "yeah what's up" "Can you take cass home you can shower there if you want you got clothes at the house. I need you to help her set up for the party" I sighed "oh for sure " he threw his keys to me which I caught "you can go in now and start it I have to get my bag quick" "okay" zach kisses me on the head "bye" "see ya"
"I'll be over in a sec" "ok Brady" I walk to the car and it peacefully quiet

I get it and turn it on with the heat. I leaned my head against the window and his car smells just like him it's intoxicating what am I saying I'm talking to Kaden. I guess I fell asleep a little because I just awake from Brady opening the door "oh- I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you" "no it's ok" he sent me an apologetic smile and I returned one. "Good job tonight it was a great goal" he smiled "thanks" he drove to my house with older by Isabel LaRosa my favorite song playing in the background. I smiled a little "what?" He sounded concerned "my favorite song" it's like he knew "yeah I hear you playing it all the time and it's been stuck in my head"

We pull up to the house and go inside "I'll get you a towel" I said as we entered zach's room I go to his bathroom and noticed his shower won't start "you've got the be kidding me" "what's wrong" " his water pipe froze" I sighed "let me go check mine" we both walk to my room "it's clean" Brady said with a laugh "yeah I cleaned it for- never mind" "oh.." I check my water and it's working "mine working you can use mine... do you care if I lay in my bed though I'm kinda mentally tired" his face got a little red "yeah of course, I mean it's your room" I walk out of my bathroom, close the door and lay on my bed

-TEN MINUTES LATER-

After being on my phone for a little I turn to my other side "hey I'm-" omg he's just in a towel
