SUGAWARA POV:
I told Daichi about my suspicions of Hinata and told him I was worried about him but he seemed unsure if what I said was true. Even after we talked to him at the store, he told me that it might've just been his sickness wearing him down. I made soup for Hinata and decided I was going to bring it to him, so I dragged Daichi with me. Hoping to prove my suspicions to him."Suga, you do realize we're skipping class for this, right? I know you're worried, but I'm sure Shoyo is fine." Daichi said, but I ignored him and knocked on the door.
"Just be quiet for a moment," I replied, which shushed him up.
NO ONE POV:
The gentle knock on the door made Hinata and his father stop in their tracks. The father was still angry while opening the door."What." He said, startling both 3rd years and closing the door behind him, blocking Suga's and Daichi's vision from seeing inside.
"Hello, sorry to disturb you. We're Shoyo's friends from school and we brought him some soup. Is this is home?" Daichi spoke, walking in front of Sugawara. The scent of alcohol filled their noses. The man's tone and attitude quickly changed.
"Oh hello! So nice of you to bring him food. Let me go get him." The man's voice changed entirely, which peaked the suspicion of the students. The man opened the door before calling his son over. Sugawara tried to peek but the room was too dark to see much.
The blinds aren't even open, how can they even see anything?
Hinata approached the door, trying to avoid eye contact so that they wouldn't see his face.
"Hello," Shoyo bowed a bit, still hiding his face. "Thank you so much. You guys really didn't have to come." He stood tense, feeling his father's presence behind him.
"It's no problem! We don't mind. Here, it's nice and hot." Sugawara assured him while handing him the soup bowl.
"Hinata, your cheek is a little red, are you alright?" Daichi reached a hand out, but Hinata flinched and backed away. Both of the 3rd years felt the presence of Hinata's father as well. The environment grew tense.
"I'm fine! Thank you so much!" Shoyo quickly spoke and shut the door. Leaving the 2 students stunned for a moment.
"See what I mean? You can't just think that's all because he's sick."
"I see it now."
Now that Daichi and Sugawara both agreed something was wrong, they had to think of what to do next. Unfortunately, they were completely clueless.
HINATA POV:
Shit. He saw my face. He saw the redness of the slap. Why did he have to point it out though? Now I'm in trouble.I slowly turned around, nervously awaiting what my father would do.
I could see him grabbing a beer, opening it gently, and chugging the whole thing. I didn't move, as I felt like I was standing in a field of land mines, anything I said or did could kill me.
Once he finished chugging the bottle, he tossed it at me, actually, next to me. The problem with that was that instinctively, I tried moving out of the way but instead walked directly into it. The glass shards shattered all over my stomach, leaving cuts and wounds all over it. Then, he walked over to the couch and acted as if nothing happened. I used that opportunity to go to my bedroom while stumbling up the stairs.
The bruises were small aches that could slightly increase or decrease over time, but the shards of glass and cuts stung like wasps, pecking at me randomly. I rushed passed Natsu into the bathroom, locking the door behind me immediately. The cuts were deep, and gushing blood out of them, but my main concern was the shards that were still inside. I scrambled my cabinets looking for tweezers and spent the next hour taking out glass shards and bandaging my stomach.
That night, I passed out on the floor. Letting the blood seep through the bandages, and the tears dry on my cheek.
(sorry for the short chapter!!)
