Face-Off for Love

Kaia Alvarez had always been a huge hockey fan. Although she did not grow up somewhere where hockey was popular there happened to be an amateur league team in her small town in Texas, so her family went all the time. She always had wished she had gotten the chance to be able to play hockey and she would definitely start now if she knew how to ice skate. When Kaia got into her dream school Eldenwood University, a pretty well-known private school on the east coast, she knew she would want to watch all the hockey games. When she saw the opportunity to become a hockey manager she signed up all the way and she made a lasting impression when she shadowed a practice so she was not at all surprised when she got the job. She loved it sure it was not everyone's ideal job to have to clean up after boys. Ideally, she loved that she was a part of all that happened behind the scenes, like setting up a practice and making sure the equipment was perfect. This definitely helped her fuel her love of the sport because she was making an impact.

One thing that caught Kaia by surprise is that the team is actually pretty nice. She was defiantly expecting them to be the stereotypical asshole college jocks, but on the contrary, they were some of the best guys she had ever met. Yes, it took a while for them to get used to her and vice versa, but she was glad that should could consider the guys some of her closest friends. They all grew to respect her because they knew that she was the one who made sure everything they needed was at their disposal. Kaia grew especially close with Luke Rowe a center who also was a first year with Kaia at the time. The two hit it off right away because they had a similar personality and sense of humor. Everyone knew they were the closest and what Kaia did not know was that Luke had a crush on her. But much to his dismay she would never date him, not because she does not like him, but because she would not risk her job for love. That is because the number one rule for all managers is DON'T DATE THE ATHELTES.

Kaia was starting her second year at Eldenwood as a sports medicine student, to hopefully become a physical therapist. She was so much more excited to start this year than she was last year. This was probably because she has a solid friend group and a job she loved. She was so excited to catch up with everyone, especially the team because she hardly spoke with them over the summer, except with Luke of course, so she was so excited to hear all their funny gossip. Within all this excitement Kaia did not know that there would be something, or more like someone, from her past that would make a comeback. What will happen when a rookie on the team is someone Kaia has some history with? Will she not acknowledge it? Will she relive an old romance and put a strain between her and Luke, or will she stand her ground and stay true to herself and not risk anything for her job?
