AELIA MONROE WAS a ray of sunshine to Camp Half-Blood. So, it wasn't a complete surprise when she was claimed as a daughter of the Sun God; Apollo. She held shimmering platinum hair, bright blue eyes, tanned skin, along with freckles dotted cross her cheekbones. Unlike her siblings, she was the only one to bear platinum blonde hair; a colour that her Aunt Artemis bore, too, when standing beneath the moonlight. Safe to say, it was easy to spot Aelia from the crowd of Apollo's children.
YET, AELIA ALWAYS seemed wise beyond her years. She would often find herself staring into space, day dreaming about events that happened years into the past. She had told Chiron about these dreams, who then told Mr. D, yet neither understood why this young girl was dreaming about the days of dragons— the days that the Targaryen family ruled. Yes, she had the platinum blonde locks that Targaryen's bore, yet everything else about her made it clear that she was a daughter of Apollo. Her mother had brown hair and blue eyes, nothing like a Targaryen. Safe to say, they had no idea why Aelia would be connected to the Targaryen family.
SHE SPENT MOST of her childhood within the safe walls of Camp Half-Blood, separated from her Mother and her new family. Aelia had a Step-father, along with two younger half-siblings; two little brothers. She had met them briefly and adored them from the moment she saw them, but when a monster known as, "Kampê," appeared at her family home, the family thought it best that Aelia remained at Camp Half-Blood for Aelia's safety... and their own. No one knew why such a powerful monster as Kampê— known as the jailer of Cyclopes and Hekatonkheires— was after a demigod daughter of Apollo. She rarely left Tartarus, but Chiron and Mr. D believed that Aelia was apart of something very important, so important that even monsters that resided in Tartarus were after her head.
AND THEN A new demigod arrived at Camp Half-Blood. Percy Jackson made quite the entrance after he killed a Minotaur, and dragged Grover across the boundary line to safety before allowing exhaustion to take over, causing him to pass out. Aelia was placed in charge of his care, and she was the first person Percy saw when he awoke. He believed himself to be dead once he saw her platinum hair and tanned skin, thinking that she was an Angel. Her beautiful laughter seemed to support his theory, yet Aelia denied his words with a kind smile and soft words; "I'm far from an Angel."
AND ONCE PERCY was claimed as a son of Poseidon ( which was forbidden ) he had been given a quest to find Zeus' missing symbol of power; his lightning bolt. The prophecy had told Percy that one he called friend would betray him, and whilst he chose Annabeth to accompany him, he also chose Aelia. He found it hard to believe that a girl who looked as sweet as her could betray someone... and he trusted his instincts for once in his life when it came to her. And so, Aelia finally set off on a quest with Percy, Annabeth and Grover, and Aelia might finally find out why she was having dreams about the Targaryen dynasty and why she was number one on so many monsters lists.
I don't own Percy Jackson (books or series) or House of the Dragon, nor Helaena Targaryen's story. I own my Oc, Aelia Monroe.
