Jane was waiting for the boy to change his clothes, as he asked her.
Matheo emerged from the dressing room, a mischievous grin on his face. He noticed Jane shivering in the freezing cold and couldn't bear to see her discomfort.
"Here," he said, his voice full of warmth. "Wear this jacket. It'll keep you cozy in this chilly weather."
Jane's face lit up with gratitude as she accepted the jacket, feeling an immediate sense of comfort wash over her. She slipped it on, the soft fabric embracing her like a gentle hug.
"Thanks," she replied, a smile playing on her lips.
Jane prepared to head home, but Matheo had a mischievous proposition in mind.
"How about I walk you home?" he suggested, a playful gleam in his eyes. "After all, I deserve some fun after winning the match!"
Jane hesitated for a moment, her eyes glimmering with amusement. "Oh, really?"
"Of course, I'm tired after running over a ball for hours! I deserve some fun!"
"You only won cause I was cheering!" She said smirking playfully.
A shared burst of laughter filled the air as they set off on their impromptu journey. The streets were adorned with the twinkling lights of the city, creating a magical ambiance around them. They strolled side by side, their laughter and lighthearted banter creating a symphony of joy.
As they walked, the conversation flowed effortlessly. They talked about their favorite moments from the match.
The cold breeze teased their cheeks, but their spirits remained warm and connected.
The journey home became an adventure in itself, filled with unexpected twists and turns. They explored hidden alleyways, stumbled upon quirky street performers, and even paused to marvel at the breathtaking night sky, a blanket of stars above them.
Finally, they arrived at Jane's doorstep, their hearts filled with the joy of newfound companionship. As they bid each other farewell.
Matheo looked at her, hands in pocket. While Jane thanked him for accompanying her home.
They smiled as Jane made her way inside. It's when Matheo's expression turned cold again.
Jane rested her back on the wall. Everything she was thinking about was him, and only him. She still had his jacket. She hugged herself, and that's when a thousand questions talked on her head.
She didn't know if she wanted that or not. She didn't know if she should give him this attention or not. She didn't know if all this is for her good or not. Was she just being selfish? Was that what she really wanted? All she knew was that she was living it not knowing where it would lead. And she didn't know if this tale had a happy ending, or she would just end up in an endless trap, just like the mouse.
She entered her room and took off his jacket. Why did she even take it? Why did she even go to the match? All these questions were perturbing her, so she ended up drifting into sleep. Going to a world, she used to escape reality with its help, but this time, it wasn't like that, it was just, her heart and her mind, and in the middle her soul who didn't know what to do.
