The post consists of the protagonist of FGO and Fate Extra, and as if someone switches the light, the person's mind lights up.
Yup, that's literally how I began obsessing over this particular pairing.
Hi Everyone! Happy New Year, this is not a chapter, just an author's note, and explain to you how this story came into being and what I think about the first arc of the story and the in-between arc. This will probably be a tradition on this story just to get out my thoughts about the story I've written so far.
Ok so first off, how did this story come into being?
I had this story in mind back in 2021, I simply imagine what a day to day life of Hakuno and Ritsuka's love life would be like, that's the first Idea, and after a while of fantasizing about it, another question popped up: How did and would the two of them met? And after that another Idea comes on as it builds up to the story you read as of this moment.
The story initially started as an anthology series looking through the daily life of the love birds, but it changed when I played Fate Extella. After playing it and seeing the story, I know there's potential for a grand story about Ritsuka diving into the world of Fate Extra.
But just to clarify, even though there is this grander plot in the making, the story I'm writing is still a love story between two people who no one thought would ever meet and interact. The grand plot of Morgan and the others is just there to give a reason for Ritsuka to interact with Hakuno and get to know her.
So after playing Fate Extella, I instantly downloaded Fate Extra and began to play through all 3 routes and see how their relationship with the others, and then after that played Fate Extella Link and saw the plotline of Velber, which became the foundation for the main plot of Fate Other Half.
Ok, so that's all I want to say about it, continuing it would lead to spoilers. Now what do I think about the arcs?
Arc 1
When I first wrote this, my first questions were: How did Ritsuka meet Hakuno? That became the foundation of Arc 1. The whole arc is just being built up for Ritsuka and Hakuno to meet up and interact. Out of the two I struggled to write Hakuno simply just because I was not invested in her compared to how much I am invested in Ritsuka, that's the reason why the Hakuno chapters are short compared to the Ritsuka Chapters.
I also have this Idea of introducing some of the Extella Link servants that are not in Extella. This happened because of my confusion about Drake and Robin Hood suddenly appearing in Fate Extella Link with no explanation, the other servants will get introduced later on especially Arjuna who will later.
So yeah, Arc 1 I can say is the " Meeting" Arc, and Arc solely focuses on building up to the meeting.
Arc 1.5
For this arc, The question that I want to answer in writing is: How would the interaction of these two be in day-to-day life?
This is the foundation of the arc as I focus on them interacting with each other in peaceful times. In my head, I have this image of Hakuno and Ritsuka always arguing about the most random thing ever and being competitive about it and seeing who is the more sassy between the two of them. The two of them are so similar to each other, so I feel like just putting them in a situation is enough and let them have a conversation related to the said situation.
Another question that pops up is: How would Ritsuka interact with the servants who either just met him for the first time, or have no recollections of him whatsoever, and not prioritize him as they have a master of their own whom they love? I made that apparent within this arc especially with Tamamo, as compared to her Chaldea self, here she doesn't give a shit about him, just a slight feeling that she can easily brush off. There are moments where Ritsuka uses his knowledge of the servants to either help them or get them to take a lighter approach to him, A Big example of this is Elizabeth.
I also set up Ritsuka's way of fighting, as the next Arc, he is going to be in a situation where he needs to fight alone, so I gave him a weapon and power to fight I.e the sword and his mana burst
