Kiara
Celebrating new year again was not something I imagined since the last time in my childhood.
But this year it was different.
And I wanted to celebrate it. Because I was about to start another year with the family I had always wanted, the people who I knew would always be there for me no matter what.
But most importantly, I was celebrating new year with the love of my life, Caleb Mikhailov, my beloved husband.
Watching him busying himself in the kitchen, I couldn't help the smile on my face.
After the new year's dinner earlier at the Mikhailov mansion, he took me to our apartment to welcome the new year with me because he wanted it to be more special than it already was.
And I had to admit, it was hard to refuse him.
After all, it was our very first time celebrating it together, specially as a married couple.
"The time is nearing, Caleb."
"I'm here." he rushed from the kitchen to the balcony, with food trolley filled with my favorite pastries, accompanied with a bottle of wine.
"Woah, is this all for me?" I gasped.
Caleb never failed to amaze me and this habit of his never stopped, even after six months of being married.
"Wait, there's more my sweet Ptitsa."
He clapped his hand and the whole balcony lit up with golden neon lights with my favorite song playing in the background.
Tears welled up my eyes but be quickly kissed them away.
"No tears anymore. We're not going to start a new year with tears right." Caleb whispered.
"Yes, you're right. No more sorrows, only happiness for the rest of our lives." I teased.
"That's what you truly deserve, Kiara. Only pure happiness," he replied before pressing his lips against mine into a soft passionate kiss.
"The countdown is about to begin." I muttered against his lips, making him smile.
He poured us our wines while I turned to the sky, counting the last ten seconds before the new year would start.
"Wait, make a wish real quick." Caleb urged and I did.
Handing over my glass of wine to me, he wrapped his arms against my waist and I leaned into his warm embrace.
Nothing felt better than being here with him and I couldn't ask for anything for more.
"THREE! TWO! ONE!"
"Happy New year, my lo-"
My words were left incomplete when I saw the fireworks lighting up the sky.

"Oh my-"
"Do you love it?"
I turned to him, my heart pounding in ny chest.
Among everything he ever did for me, I never imagined he would ever wish me a happy new year by lighting up the sky with his wish.
"This is the best new year's gift ever." I said, hugging him tightly.
