I ran to the edge of the boat and yelled at the crew.
"Come on you bunch! We have a ship to land!" The crew ran across the ship to their positions. I looked over my shoulder and my father looked at the sky in front of us. He showed pride of the ship that was sailing, but none for the over flowing riches under his deck.
But I found the loot. Oh, but that means nothing to my father.
"Skylar! Come and make sure the crew is in their positions." Well they should be. I just told them to be. But saying that to my captain wouldn't help me. At all.
"Yes Capt'n!" I yelled. I walked down the steps, and suddenly the boat lurched forward.
Yells of profanity came from the crew, but my father drew out his sword.
"Silence!" He yelled. The crew drew out their swords and put on their 'show-no-mercy' faces. I ran quickly to the top of the ship, next to my father.
"Captain," I stated, but my father ignored me.
"Skylar, go." He addressed me. "Go to the cabin. Stay there until I say so." I groaned. He turned to me. "Now." He commanded. I sighed and and went inside. The dimly lit room showed my fathers red silk sheets thrown in his bed, along with his 'oh-so-special' feathered pillow. His boots were scattered around, and the gold from our last few plunders and pillages laid underneath his last, worn-out jacket. I walked past his bed and the feast he and I had last night, and walked into my cabin.
My cabin looked over the back of the ship. A giant glass window viewed the seas and all of its glory. My bookshelf consisted of the maps we have stolen, and my father gave up on, along with books I secretly stole from a fancy ship five years ago. My bed was tucked in the corner, along with my dresser. My table was placed in the middle of the room, and I had the latest map held on there by four of my bronze daggers. A basket held some apples and oranges, and a glass was moving around. Quickly, a grabbed the glass from flying off the table, and thats when I heard the shouts.
I ran to the wall and pushed my dresser out of the way, revealing a secret tunnel leading towards the deck. I ran in there, after I placed my dresser back, and hastily made my way throughout the dark musty hole. As soon as I reached the door, I heard swords clashing against swords. I whipped mine out, and kicked the door open. Nobody seemed to notice my appearance, so I joined the fighting of the Star-Ship police. The police were after my father, since he was such a notorious pirate. Quickly, three offenders bombarded me, but I slashed and kicked, and stabbed those who were against my father's crew.
The people against us began to pile on the deck, well, besides the captain of their crew, along with the standing officer, who were on the deck looking up to my father. I quickly joined my father's side, and stared at them. My father glanced at me, and hardened his stare on the officers. The standing officer was staring at me lustfully, and my father saw this. Anger flared throughout him, and he shouted.
"YOU DARE LOOK AT MY DAUGHTER LIKE THAT?!" Before the commander could do anything, my father chopped off the other man's head, and the crew flinched. It was a rule amongst the crew, no one was suppose to have an attraction to me, otherwise, it means certain death. The Commander gasped and stared in shock at my father.
"How dare you kill someone like that! Your sentence will be more than your lifetime!" I felt no pity for the commander. He knew my fathers rep, and should've known he'd die. I raised my sword to kill the Commander, but my father stopped me.
"Skylar, don't kill him."
"Why? He has come aboard and meant to kill us!" I argued.
"Yes, but dead men tell no tales." I groaned and lowered my sword.
"Commander, you shall live. If you can swim." The crew laughed, and Slash tied his hands behind his back.
"Father, can I have the honor of walking him down the plank??" He thought about it and nodded. I roughly pulled him up to his feet and made him walk to the side of the boat. The crew had already put up the plank, so I walked the captain to the plank. I stood behind the commander, and pushed him forward.
"Hope you can swim."
And with that, I pushed him off the edge. He fell into the water, and didn't resurface for at least ten seconds. When he did, he was gasping for air. Unsatisfied, I walked back to the boat, and Slash put out a hand to help me down. I denied it like always, and hoped down. I walked to my father who was patiently waiting by the hull. He took me hand and pulled me to his planning cabin. It was a dark room, but had enough light to see the newest map.
Father turned towards me with a sour expression. "I remember telling you to go to your cabin." I sighed.
"I didn't want to miss out on a fight." I said.
"And I don't want you to be hurt."
"I won't! I can handle myself!"
"No."
"I can! And I'll show you!"
"Skylar, I will not fight you."
"And you won't have to! Let me go by myself! Get my own ship, crew, and loot!" Father narrowed his eyes.
"No."
"Why not??"
"Because, you're too young."
"Stop treating me like a baby! You always do that. Every time someone comes aboard, you freak out and tell me to go to my room!"
"I do that for your own good!"
"I'm not going to die."
"How do you know?"
"Because I'll take care of myself."
"No Skylar. Now go to your room." When I didn't move, he glared at me. "That's an order."
Groaning, I left his cabin for mine.
When I expected to be alone, but Slash was lounging on my desk, sharpening one of his knives.
"So? Did the old man kill you?" Laughing, I sauntered towards him. He was the only one knowing I wanted to leave. Perks of being my best friend.
"No, but I might've killed him. I asked him if I could leave." Slash have me an exasperated look.
"Are you an idiot?! You father would rather die than see you on your own."
I let out an annoyed sigh.
"That's exactly why he said no."
He nodded.
"Remind me to praise the man." He smirked and gave me a wink.
"Oh har har." I shoved him and instead of him moving, I stumbled backwards. He laughed at me.
"Everytime you try to move me Sky, you fail." I stuck my tongue at him and pushed my friend out of my cabin, and with him walking forward, he left my room, but stood in the doorway.
"Night, Sky." He stepped backwards, and allowed me to shut the door.
Before completely closing the door, I called out to him.
"Night, Slash!"
After closing the door, I changed into a sleeping gown, and blew out my candles, and the only light illuminating the room was the moon off the sea. Laying in bed, I made my plan to escape this boat.
